I think I could probably attempt this. I will test the waters and watch something at least moderately spooky tonight

I will be honest - I am getting so much other watching done that I’d hate to burn myself out on random horror movies. I’m all down for everyone submitting movies to make the (re)watch roster come oct
Also I think it was hubbins that said his wife would divorce him if he did it this month and I might be in a similar (though less legal) situation

The bosma collective decided that "spooky" was not the desired vibe tonight

To be fair, I don't think both of the cats should get a vote but here we are

I've seen The Apple Dumpling Gang. We watched it all the time as kids.

Y’all ever seen Tim Conway as Dorf? Specifically in Dorf’s Golf Bible?

I saw a really gorgeous print of The Man Who Fell To Earth the week after Bowie died and it was an incredible experience. They played the music video for Lazarus beforehand and it was overwhelming.

Criterion got Shaft which is probably the most important thing.
Yesterday I watched The Harder They Come(Criterion) and Holy Motors (Kanopy).
I'd hesitate to call the harder they come a "great" film but watching Jimmy Cliff do crimes to that soundtrack obviously rules hard.
Holy Motors was every bit as bizarre as the hype train told me it was but I thought it was strangely moving at times. Does it work overall? It worked on me most of the time but who really knows. Excited for his Sparks musical I guess, the musical scenes in this movie were immeasurably better than most zillion dollar musicals so I'm sure it'll be good. Why can't people make good musicals anymore?

La La Land is good. The songs are just OK but the staging and Hurwitz's score is really good. It's ok that they ripped off Jacques Demy and Gene Kelly.

Do we think Damien Chazelle knows that Seb is an asshole? I'm not sure it matters

This would probably elevate any experience but seeing La La Land with a live orchestra performing the score was fucking dope and made me enjoy it that much more. Went to a piano bar after and watched my dad get tipsy on amaretto sours, was a good time
Y’all remember outside?

The Epilogue is the best thing that has happened to a musical in a long time. best thing since An American In Paris! True, I thought after La La Lands success Hollywood would start funding more musicals though.
