I'll stan MI3, it's a solid if not flawed course correction after the ludicrous second film. PSH is a great villain, and it brings some much needed empathy to the narrative. 3 saved the franchise.

I finally was able to take advantage of one of these Criterion sales and bought Breathless the other night.

Is it just me or do the lead actors (esp Kevin Smith) in that Clerks 3 trailer look like they have poorly-applied spray tans on their faces?

Second viewing of Cha Cha Real Smooth was great. Haven't heard much talk about this film here, and that's kind of disappointing. One of the best of this year, for sure.

gonna start working my way through some criterion titles ive never seen (which is most of them) -le cercle rouge This is one of my favorite foreign films. If you like crime movies, you'll like this. Yeah Le Cercle Rouge is amazing. Studio Canal did a great job restoring it in 4K. The 25 minute heist scene alone is phenomenal. Thanks for the recommendation!

I watched the Val Kilmer documentary Val last night. While I'm sure some of the more controversial stuff was omitted from it, it's a worthy film and I kinda felt sorry for him by the end.

Watched Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe and it's just as stupid as we all knew it would be.
Also watched the new Thor and yeah just as silly as expected. Marvel Phase 4 definitely showing the franchise losing steam.

The Bob's Burgers movie is available for streaming on Hulu and HBO Max tomorrow. This was an enjoyable watch. It's nice to know that Bob's Burgers is consistently funny after all these years.

Watched Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe and it's just as stupid as we all knew it would be. I loved it. I don't think it'll stand up to repeated viewing as well as the first movie (which I could watch basically any time) but it's really fun and any worry I had about the upcoming new episodes is gone.

Totally stoked that Arsenic and Old Lace is finally coming to Blu-ray. I for sure thought Warner Archive was going to release this but now I can get rid of my old DVD copy.

It’s mid-tier Lynch but still great.

I love Lost Highway. I think I saw that three times when it was in theaters.
I saw Nope the other night. I hope Peele isn't on an M. Night Shyamalan career trajectory. I did, however, appreciate the use of Sunglasses At Night.

I enjoyed Nope. Started off a little sluggish but definitely is well-shot and the payoff is good enough.

We saw it on Friday. I liked the slow burn at the beginning/middle of the movie. The comparisons to Close Encounters and Jaws are spot on and it didn’t remind me of M. Night films at all.
