I saw Polite Society last night, and it was fucking awesome. So fun.  We saw this today. My wife liked it more than I did, but it was still really good. |

Yeah just saw Guardians 3 today and that was my favorite MCU movie in a good minute (admittedly not a high bar to clear though)

I saw BlackBerry earlier today. I really didn't think it was funny, but it is pretty interesting and entertaining, particularly in the second half.

Went to see Mario Bros on Saturday, had a great time. I feel like the last few movies I've seen in theaters have been like 2.5-3 hours and it was honestly really nice catching a nice 90 minute one. The movie was definitely a lot of "hey remember when this happens in the game? Here it is happening for twenty seconds", but it worked. Not sure what they'd do for a sequel though. Was pretty [] and I thought the visuals would be the best part but man the music had me going the entire time. So many different themes dropping constantly tugging at my nostalgia strings. There were a LOT of kids there with their parents and I got more than one disapproving look with how hard I was laughing at the depressed blue star's jokes, especially the one about the only escape being the sweet release of death |

I watched Air last weekend and it was pretty good. Viola Davis is the best actor in the whole film but Matt Damon actually is great too- good reminder that he can do that when he feels like it. The choice to not actually focus on Michael Jordan is pretty good I think from a film viewing perspective, especially when he's filled in with highlights and that meeting at Nike Headquarters, which was my favorite part of the film. I need to see the Super Mario Brotherrs movie still so might do that tomorrow |

I think it wasn't successful enough at the box office to warrant a sequel, which is too bad because that movie really is great. I'm not sure why it didn't do that well. When I finally got around to it, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Was everyone feeling too much Tom Cruise fatigue at the time? Crowded box office? I didn't see it in theaters, either. |

The marketing for the movie was confusing and didn't make any sense, so that didn't help. Most of the posters and marketing you see on Google now were developed after the movie was released on DVD.

I think enough people watched and enjoyed over the last decade and also everyone is (rightfully) fully back in on TC so i think a sequel could maybe be profitable now.

Emily Blunt is also a bigger star now, which should help in terms of drawing interest in a sequel.
It still might be too expensive for the studio to risk post COVID, though.

We’re gonna catch the new JLD flick tonight.
Debating whether to make the effort this weekend to see Master Gardener in the theaters. Has anyone heard reliable thumbs up or down insight about that one?
