The Denver Film Festival preview was held last night. I think my wife and I are going to try for The Boy and the Heron showing at the Botanic Gardens, but otherwise I have a 5 film pack to use, and here's some of the options I'm considering:
Friday 11/3 - Molli and Max in the Future, Eight Eyes Monday 11/6 - Eric LaRue Thursday 11/9 - I was thinking the showing of Sorcerer (1977) into Late Night w/ the Devil could be fun. Friday 11/10 - Infested Saturday 11/11 - Songs of Earth, Publish or Perish, The People's Joker Sunday 11/12: Menus Plaisirs - Les Troisgros, Totem, Green Border, Fallen Leaves
If any of these are definite must-sees, let me know!

The People’s Joker is a fucking trip and if Vera is there presenting it you should definitely go. That was the surprise screening at the Wisconsin Film Festival back in April and it was great.
Fallen Leaves also looks very good

Does Eric LaRue not have distribution (yet)? That's one I'm thinking about for the festival here in Chicago. As of now, I'm only seeing things that will be getting widespread theatrical release (though perhaps not for several weeks), and I'm trying to find other stuff that might be harder to see outside of a festival setting.

I thought Eric LaRue was the best film I saw at Tribeca Film Fest. Highly recommend.

I grabbed tickets for Eric LaRue and Sorcerer. Really wanted to see All Of Us Strangers but it's the same night as Fever Ray, and I wasn't quick enough to get The Boy And The Heron.

Saw Stop Making Sense at the Logan Theatre and it was fantastic. Must see for anyone who hasn't gone yet.
Also went to Revolution for the first time in years afterwards. Still great.

I saw that last weekend. It's pretty cool.
I keep meaning to drag my ass to see The Royal Hotel, but each time I think I'm going to see it I end up taking a nap instead.

All of Us Strangers. Wow. That was fantastic.
The trailer did not prepare me for how bleak that was.

Poor Things is a little long in the last third, but it's still pretty awesome. I'm not sure I was aware that Emma Stone was capable of such a performance.

last week i read a review about Killers of the Flower Moon that ended with a couple lines about expecting audiences to be mad about how it all wraps up. so i went into it last night expecting basically everyone who did bad things to get away with everything. i don't know if it took away something from the movie because i was like "oh, this fucking guy..." a dozen times. i thought the movie was pretty solid.

Absolutely did not need the first 20 minutes trying to link everyone together, but I largely enjoyed the rest of it. The bridge scenes were incredible to see on a big screen.

Killers of the Flower Moon is outstanding. Saw it at the Alamo Drafthouse and had beers delivered to my seat. Epic.

Killers of the Flower Moon is outstanding. Saw it at the Alamo Drafthouse and had beers delivered to my seat. Epic. i also saw it at alamo. my gripe with them is they're so over the top about no texting or talking but servers are constantly walking through. the people next to me apparently didn't know how to order, so there were a few times servers returned to clarify an order. distractions piled up anyway.

That would be super annoying. I've only ever sat first or second row at Alamo where it's basically empty. The screens are so low there so it's a perfect viewing experience with no distractions from people who don't know how to order food.
