the better half (who has a membership to the music box) and I saw the single screening this afternoon at the music box of the king crimson documentary, in the court of the crimson king.
because we had seen the band when they played Ravinia in 2021 before they disbanded, this movie made a lot more sense than if we had come in to the movie blind, especially as the documentary concentrates on the most recent version of the band, the version that we saw up close from Ravinia's pavilion.

I've been throwing on PlutoTV on my office tv at work and this morning I turned it on right as Planes Trains and Automobiles started Idk how I'm going to get anything done this morning I had an urge to watch Muriel's Wedding the other day and that was the place it was streaming for free. I think I might get some use out of Pluto over the holidays.

They should seriously be paying me with how much I talk about it. I’ve voiced this opinion before and people always think I’m crazy, but I miss the structure of cable tv pre-streaming. The element of choice has become sort of overwhelming. I love throwing on Pluto right when I get home from work while I’m doing a few chores so there’s content on that I don’t have to worry about choosing. I can jump into a movie I’ve seen 100 times right in the middle like I used to on cable! There’s even something nostalgic about the “it’s back on!” feeling after a commercial. I can once again look forward to certain programming at a certain time of day (Baggage starts at 10pm on the game show channel).

My review of Napoleon is to wait for the directors cut. The battle scenes of course look great but I found them completely lacking in dramatic tension since the particulars and stakes for each battle are just so glossed over that it's tough to give a shit.
I obviously love the angle that one of the greatest conquerors in human history is a petulant little cuck but it's a tall task to balance THAT movie with the big sweeping historical epic. I think Ridley may have tried to do too much in 2.5 hours and I suspect/hope the directors cut beefs up the parts that felt really threadbare in the theatrical cut.
It's like a way worse version of Barry Lyndon.
