Apparently they've only sold 7k 3-day passes for this It has the best lineup of the US majors, so that sounds about right

Yeah, if it wasn’t so cost prohibitive we would have gone. I love the lineup and it’s really sad it’s not doing well.

That's a bummer, for sure. But it's really not surprising to me. The majority of people who go to Sasquatch live close enough to either Portland or Seattle, and almost every one of the big acts on the lineup has played in those cities within the last 6 months or so. Tyler has to be considered one of the big "gets" and he's played Portland twice in the last 6 months.
There's really no "rare" or otherwise noteworthy booking on the lineup, and that ticket price is too damn high.
$230 for a 3-day is high? Also my friend just got a Sunday VIP ticket for $80, which is $50 below face, so you should be able to find some deals. My anecdata is in direct conflict with the Coachellaboard theorizing that the olds/people with kids have deserted the fest because they have family obligations over Memorial Day (??) If anything what killed this fest was the wildly inconsistent lineups the last couple ten years.

$230 is a great price for a 3 day fest in 2018.

i get why you guys like it (and i think it's fine) but it is still a destination festival with camping and a long drive from a main airport hub, so it ultimately isn't that cheap, even with reasonable 3 day prices. and the past few years does feel smaller compared to other years so it's probably not as easy to bring in locals either.
it's the same problem Bonnaroo would be having if Bonnaroo didn't have livenation's money to spend on big arena headliners to pull in enough fest newcomers to turn a small profit.

Literally was just responding to the ticket price. The other costs are worth it imo to be in a stunning place away from it all but that's me.

Was $230 the early bird price? Ticketmaster is showing me $325 now, plus another $60 per vehicle for camping.

Yeah, ticket prices were definitely $300+ when we were looking. It came down to spending essentially $2k to go to a festival without any other sightseeing and time in Seattle vs taking a little bit of a longer vacation and spending the time/money exploring a city.

That's the 4 pack price, which we all did.

one week until i fly to seattle ahhhhhh
currently the main conflict really pissing me off is perfume genius and big thief because i'm super into both right now and really really wanna see 'em. i know i can probably just see big thief at p4k this year, but damn i wanna see them next weekend.
just before the fest my top 5 i'm most excited to see for each day (as usual skewed toward acts i've never seen before) is:
friday: david byrne margo price ccfx bon iver tyler
saturday: grizzly bear pup pedro the lion algiers tyler childers
sunday: the national slowdive anderson paak soccer mommy phoebe bridgers
sunday is lowkey stacked damn. big time honorable mentions to neko case, perfume genius, and big thief. (not to mention how high key stacked friday is)

it'd be cool if modest mouse cancelled and were replaced with carly rae jepsen and jaden smith

it's also annoying that the acts ill be able to see this summer otherwise (algiers, wolf parade, david byrne) don't really clear up any conflcits

my flight last night go diverted to fargo bc of a medical emergency so i got back to my apartment after 2am. very chill thing to happen after 3 days of camping and a 3 hour drive back to seattle from the gorge!
festival was so awesome though. as beautiful a place to see a show as everyone says, and lots of great sets and fun with everyone.

Omg you're lucky it was only a 3 hour drive. I left at 11:30ish and rolled into Seattle around 6. Thankfully I don't leave until this afternoon but that was insane.
