Friday the 13th comes out tomorrow. I'm on the fence about it right now. It's a kickstarter game, but everything I've seen so far looks like tons of fun. And it's only 40 bucks. It looks fun enough, but I too am super wary of Kickstarter games at this point. Right now I'm halfway through a New Game+ on Persona 5, but I'm feeling like I should take a break from it. Was considering Horizon or Nier Automata or Prey... i've yet to finish Horizon. It's a great game, but I've taken multiple breaks from it. I did the same with Rise of the Tomb Raider as well.

I got The Order 1886 for $4, and that's about as much as I could reasonably pay and not feel like I overpaid. Amazing that that was a $60 game at one point.

my backlog is getting too full for me to do it (I still haven't really delved into Persona 5 because I haven't had time) but I'm still half waiting for Horizon Zero Dawn to get down to $20. That's probably a game worth 60 but might as well wait at this point

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is very very good, and a nice change of pace from the other 3DS Fire Emblem games.

Arms is also amazing. I first played it at a Switch event back in January and dug it but was skeptical how cool it'd be online... and it's proven to be great. Probably the best motion controls I've ever used. It's also a good workout, especially for long sessions. Gonna pick it up most likely.
If you didn't get to check it out last weekend then there's gonna be another round of times next weekend.

Fire Emblem is on 3DS fwiw, although there's FE Warriors coming out later this year and a new FE game in 2018 that they haven't really talked about yet.
E3 better have Animal Crossing, though. If not, then Metroid.

I did the 3rd season of the walking dead this weekend. it was...okay. honestly if it wasn't for clementine i wouldn't have enjoyed it. characters i didn't care about, telltale tried way too hard to literally make the person you're controlling to like certain characters whether or not if you wanted to (i.e. at one point I chose to defend someone from other people yelling at him, then, after defending him, they MAKE your character side with the others, despite how you feel), etc. The story was decent but characters' motives were all over the place. Clem's story was interesting, and honestly they could've fleshed it out and made it all about her easily. Another issue with having her there and not being playable is that all my actions were influenced by what helped Clem out the most, even if it meant everyone else got screwed over. Clem is life. Anyway there will be a season 4 and it looks like it'll be clem centered so i'm excited about that I know a lot of you didn't enjoy season 2 so you'll probably like this one even less, but season 1 might be my favorite game ever, season 2 is like an 8.5 imo, and this...like a 4.0. Without Clem, like 0.2.

Any worthwhile games to play on the PS4 recently? Looking to pick something up today.
That or go pick up a used copy of Red Dead for PS3 since I don't think I actually ever played that. Not sure if I still have my old controllers around at all though

Nah I haven't, and would probably be a good time to start since I have nothing to do until my job starts in July. Not sure how much I'd enjoy it though. How similar is it to a Fallout type game?

I'd be remiss to not mention Horizon Zero Dawn if you haven't tried that.

Hmm, I'm trying to think of how I'd compare it to Fallout. It's more character and story driven, while still having like plenty of choices and stuff. One thing I absolutely love about it is that the side quests are consistently fantastic. There's a lot of sidequests in it that have writing on par or better than most main quests of games. The combat is more timing based I'd say.
It's one of my favorite games ever and I'd put it above honestly any of the Bethesda RPG's personally. It is worth noting that it really took me a minute to get into though. I had to start really getting the combat down and start getting invested in the characters before I really got going. I spent the first like 6-8 hours going really slow because I wasn't getting into it, then somewhere around that 8-10 hour mark it just clicked and the next 75 hours (it's a pretty long game and I also tried to do everything which I recommend) just flew by.
The DLC is great too

a new PC was gonna be my next big purchase but I've been spending too much on travels and concert tickets and alcohol and eating more expensive than I should dinners. granted I have games on my consoles I'm behind on anyway

my PS4 has become an Overwatch and Crunchyroll box. Not really interested in what Sony is putting out anymore and no, I don't want a sequel to The Last of Us because I'm sick of sequels. The Last of Us was a perfect standalone story with an understated ending that tied the whole thing together. Would probably put it among my favorite games of last gen but I've moved past it.

I finally finished Horizon this weekend. Great game, little too long for me in places though. Also wrapped up the newest season of Telltales TWD series, which was unfortunately the weakest season. Season 2 was great, so it's a shame they stumbled here. I know they wanted to introduce more characters other than Clem, but her story was way more interesting than the others. hopefully they'll focus just on her for S4.
I did go ahead with buying Friday the 13th, and it's quite a bit of fun, though it can be very frustrating. Outside of the server/matchmaking issues, they don't really give you a hint as to how to use Jason's powers, but a few tries in and you get the gist of it. After a week now, most people are workin together as the counselors, which isn't very common in the movies, ironically.

That DBZ game is guaranteed to be legit. I'm interested to see who all's on the roster and how they'll make the movesets unique. They showed Gold Frieza in the trailer but I'm hoping they don't dive too far into Super #nerd

I finally finished Horizon this weekend. Great game, little too long for me in places though I got this as a wedding shower present, and have devoured it over the last week. The core gameplay is just so satisfying, resource gathering aside.

Yeah its a wonderful game, really enjoyed it.
There's nothing that I'm aware of that I'm too excited about, except the last of us 2 and spiderman, so this'll give me time to catch up on some stuff I haven't beaten yet like Watch Dogs 2.
