only worth going to the lucero show if you're willing to do several beer and shot combos that night

They were previously the limelight eventplex and then got bought out by the booking team that works for the castle theater in Bloomington. Great bookings recently because of that. May hit up that Hiss show if I don’t have anything else going on

Hiss are one of the best live bands going it would be a mistake not to. I saw them in multiple states last tour and I hate music.

Both shows are only $20 and I can get them without fees at the box office. Probably not a bad decision. May do just that!

Apparently there aren’t any Hiss shows in Chicago? If anyone decides to come down for that show there’s a comfy couch and/or air mattress that’s totally available to you as long as you’re cool with cats

Oh neat. I have yet to get really into them. Should I do that? Tell 'em rango and doso sent ya. Nobody's Darlings is great; my favorite Lucero record is That Much Further West.

That Much Further West is a better album but Nobody's Darling is the best starting point cuz its a bit peppier me thinks. Like I think Brighter Than Creation's Dark is the best DBT record but I would start with Southern Rock Opera/Decoration Day/Dirty South

Yeah that makes total sense. For me, TMFW is Lucero's Who's Next: non-stop hits.

Hey another sweet southern rock show at Monarch Music Hall on October 2: Drive-By Truckers with an opening set from Adam’s House Cat (Patterson & Cooley’s band before they formed DBT).
No Chicago or NY dates, but they’ll be in Boulder on 10/5.

no but i think i know who the person wrote the article.
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY.
A nursing student, he says he has been studying several sexually transmitted diseases. He believes he has conjured a cure for several of them.
“It was just simple mathematics and an understanding of antibiotics,” he says.
He hasn’t shared his secret with any public-health officials — “just people in my own circle,” he says — but he would gladly relay his calculations and formulas to the U.S. government. Then government-backed researchers and scientists could mass produce the cure, which not only could help Americans but be sold overseas.
“That way, the federal government could pay off the debt,” he says.
represent, duder. represent.

If there was anybody to need to find a cure for STDs, it would be someone from Peoria.

This is fair. We did figure out how to mass produce penicillin so that’s pretty neat.

lol my dad talked about that today. They get trapped in their place due to a marathon once a year. Our apartment is right by where the race for the cure starts/finishes which is a bit of a conundrum, especially since it happened the same day I graduated college.
