If you live in Brooklyn and love live music, I highly recommend heading to Prospect Park tonight for the New York Philharmonic's annual free concert. They will perform three very accessible pieces:
Dvořák's Symphony No. 9, From the New World Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story Gershwin's An American in Paris
Looks like the weather should be fine and they'll have fireworks afterwards. We went a couple of years ago and it was a very nice evening of performances by truly world-class musicians. Technically, alcohol is not allowed in the park, but we brown-bagged a few road sodas without incident.

Although now that I think about it, those shows are going to be ridiculously overcosted because Broadway.

Chance the Rapper at Forest Hills on September 26. Pretty sure I'll need to take Teen Wolf stepson to that one.

I'd bet she'd travel for this.

GBV/Okkervil/Sadies in the afternoon. Charles Bradley/Kilo Kish/POBPAH in the evening.
I'd rather do the evening session, but I think my gf would prefer the afternoon's lineup

The kitchen sink salad at meatball shop is like the best sit down value in Manhattan and i ate there 0 times when i lived in NYC because it seemed like a very annoying idea, also mazel tov to the main mensch Doso let me know where to ship an $18 gift card that can only be spent in the sit down area at Yonah Schimmel's Knishes

Yonah Schimmel ftw!!! It's been too long since I've enjoyed one of their knishes.

Anyone trying get St. Vincent presale tickets at Kings Theatre and not having any luck?
The website never gave me the option to choose quantity of tickets, it just says "Tickets currently not available", and on the app I couldn't pull up any tickets, not even for 1 person.

The website never gave me the option to choose quantity of tickets, it just says "Tickets currently not available", and on the app I couldn't pull up any tickets, not even for 1 person. I pulled a bunch of tickets for my own informal research purposes using the Amex presales and the venue presale (FUTUREFEAR is the passcode). I started around 15 minutes after the presales began. At first, everything was in rows AA-EE and the Amex Preferred option wasn't pulling up anything at all. Then 10 minutes later I started pulling rows S-Y (mostly on the side sections, but a few in the center). I also tried pulling tickets using a Ticketmaster Verified Fan code yesterday. Those were mostly dogshit. A lot of balcony seats and nothing on the main floor closer than row Y. I think there's a good chance you'll do fine during the regular on-sale.
