Almost feels like we should have 2 lists for before/during the virus (note: we should not actually do this)

I assume this is in my album queue because of the Pitchfork review. I don't know if this is a "good" album but it is definitely an "incredible" album

Pool Holograph that P4K reviewed yesterday is pretty good. Definitely Deerhunter vibes

Putting the finishing touches on my review for this: There's a lot of good stuff coming out this Friday, but I hope everyone gives this a listen. Truly a gut wrenching album that is softened by the dark humor he filters all of it through.

Think I'm gonna listen through a couple discographies. I've listened to most of Kate Bush's stuff but I haven't sat down and listened through it all in a really long time so I'm just starting at the beginning again. I have listened to two other albums from this band in my life and I think I could get really into them. "On the day that I forget you, I hope my heart explodes" is such a perfect lyric.

Pretty good new release day. Listened to Matt Berninger, Open Mike Eagle and HEALTH so far. HEALTH was my favorite of the 3, pretty much a standard album for them though.

Can’t wait to find out what a beabadoobie is after months of thinking that name is silly

Checked this album out today (tho it's from August). Really really cool stuff, especially the title track. Bass-propelled, angular punk that ought to go over real well for the Priests/Flasher fans here.

I don't remember who recommend this record (Fenne Lily - Breach) on here (or maybe on reddit? I just know someone recommended it to me), but it's really fantastic. She's toured with Lucy Dacus, Julia Jacklin, and Waxahatchee, and that's a pretty thorough FFO guide for this record. "Alapathy" is def the standout 'banger' track here, but there are some really aching, beautifully sparse songs closing out the record, especially "I Used To Hate My Body But Now I Just Hate You" and "Someone Else's Trees"

New Sturgill is terrific. What were y'all's favorite reinterpretations? I loved the mandolin on "Breakers Roar" and said "fuck yea" out loud at least once each during "Life Ain't Fair..." and "Railroad of Sin." Also the rearrangement of Turtles was slick as hell - great stuff.

Damn that's tough. I think Breakers Roar and A Little Light have probably been the standouts so far. This whole album is making my morning so much more tolerable - sitting here tapping my feet to Life of Sin right now.

The new Kevin Morby is probably not going to change the way you feel about Kevin Morby - dude has settled into a very distinctive songwriting style and is making a very cozy home there. So if you were meh on Oh My God, this may not be your cup of tea. It's less overtly gospel and more homespun, stripped back folk. But the spiritual thread that connected deeply with me on Oh My God is still strong here. I don't know if this one will have the same emotional staying power that his last had on me (#5 AOTY last year and in my 2010s top 100), but I really love it on first listen. Really praying for another Waxa/Morby tour once the Rona allows.

That Sweeping Promises album is legit tho, thanks for finding that. Pretty good release day, nothings been disappointing.

Gonna need some more listens to say if its better than "the last album" but I will say the fact that Jacknife Lee produced this is a pretty random but cool thing to know There's like 3 songs on here that could be the best rap songs but that is for more qualified people than myself to figure out
