I listened to some cool 2020 records that I may post more thoughts about here tomorrow (Sports Team! Ambrose Akinmusire! Will Butler!) But for now here's some Scott Walker:

This was a really good rec by bv, that was a nice surprise.
New PUP of course rips too.

Adrienne Lenker is killing it ya'll. Zombie Girl is an immediate SOTY contender - she's unbelievable

New Adrienne Lenker is great, really nice for my drive to work in the rain.
I think I mixed up Pallbearer with another band but this is cool, I like it.
Trying to get as much new music in as possible before the new Ari album comes out and inevitably dominates my listening habits for 3 months.

My only complaint (very seriously) is that the first track goes a little heavy on the bird noises at times...

new Springsteen can get corny even for 2020 Springsteen but its still a nice listen. "Janey Needs a Shooter" is fantastic and looking at tracklist figured it was a Zevon cover but the story is quite good but I guess also not surprised the best song on the album is a 40 year old song has Zevon influence in it.

Magik Markers album is decent guitar rock tho its a bit derivative at times.
Loma was solid.
Jeff Tweedy was Jeff Tweedy.

My 20 year old cousin’s album. I have listened to much worse.

I don't know how often I'll go back to this but I found it quite enjoyable. Low key hope the title track makes it into Wilco setlists going forward

The highs are high on this one but I'd probably like it more if it was like 10-15 minutes shorter

This is pretty great, huh? Bruce just does not miss. "Burnin' Train" and "Ghosts" are just so Kickass Bruce songs it's almost parody, but I don't care, this is awesome.

For me, the album lags from As Many Candles to The Last Place. But I've only given it two run-throughs, so I'll probably listen to the lyrics more closely and change my tune.

I actually think Getting Into Knives could be cut, but then the album would need a new title.

Okay, this record: Sports Team - Deep Down Happy, has been my latest obsession. And I feel like a lot of y'all would like it too. They're the next in the long line of British punk-ish bands, but they've got more of an ear for anthemic/hooky choruses than their peers. It's hard to pin down their sound, but they're wiry/spastic like Squid but also hilarious and wordy like Los Campesinos? And instrumentally they actually remind me of like classic era Wolf Parade and the Walkmen at times. Anyways, it's a really great, exciting record - I've listened like 5 times in the last 3 days. Big recommendation.

Yeah, Tidal Wave doesn't do much for me. As Many Candles As Possible is another good track for me.

Happy Positions day board. I have minimal self control and did listen to the leak about a dozen times since Monday and will definitely listen at least another dozen times. It’s reminiscent of pretty much every era at points sans thank u, next and the string arrangements are spectacular. Some really great tracks but pov is maybe top 10 Ari. Spectacular song and a perfect album closer. Definitely check it out if you’ve enjoyed any of her music in the past, this is a good one.
