Highly recommend everyone check this out. Easily my favorite Ghost album and it's a lot poppier than they usually are.

Yeah this one is real nice. I know some folks on the Board liked this, so I'd also wholeheartedly recommend pretty much all of Jake's albums too. I think I prefer his last LP, especially its track "Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues," but this one scratches that same pastoral itch too. Favorite track may actually have been the instrumental "In Florida" but "Breast of Glass" and the nine-minute song were also fantastic.

Some random reviews from the new albums I listened to while I deep cleaned my apartment today: Stromae- first big Coachella research find and turns out this new album is fun as hell even though I don't understand a single word of lyurics to it Avril Lavigne- This is the album she literally should've made a decade ago. Most of these songs are an affront to God except the Mark Hoppus song. I would absolutely see her set again at a festival. Caroline- another weird British post-punk band doing weird British post punk shit. There's horns in there I'm pretty sure so maybe they can even consider ska an influence. Idk. I would listen to this album again when I am not actively engaged in cleaning a toilet. Fly Anikin- this wasn't bad but it made me want to listen to Joey Badass for some reason? Erin Rae- Kevin Morby approved....well not country but also not not country, you know? Like as someone who uses y'all in regular conversation I would call this country but not all folks who listen to country/use the world y'all in conversation would approve, you know? rango420 what are your thoughts and also would you like to go to a baseball game this summer

The only one of those I've listened to is Caroline. The hype made it sound like they might be Arcade Fire-ish, but it was more like a mellower GY!BE

Daaamn y'all were not lying about this one. Another stunning album in what's shaping up to be an incredible year of music. It'll be awesome to hear a lot of these songs live at P4K. Can't wait.

P4k was right about this one, it's pretty great. Unfortunately they are at the Bottle the same night Hot Chip is at Radius, oh well.

P4k was right about this one, it's pretty great. Unfortunately they are at the Bottle the same night Hot Chip is at Radius, oh well. Great tunes but super cringy lyrics sometimes. I bought tickets to this but it will be a game time decision whether I go to Hot Chip instead.

Listening to the new Beach House now, and it's samesy but good! But also, damn did "Space Song" get super TikTok famous or something? It has 300,000,000 Spotify plays outta nowhere. I remember that one being the highlight of the only time I saw them, like 7 years ago now - good for them!

The Rosalia album got too ballad-y for my taste toward the end but the front half was good and fun.
Charli album was also good and fun.
oso oso surprised released a new one and it is sad and good.
Good new music weekend if I do say so myself

A ranking of the five 2021 albums that I listened to today:
1.) Nilufer Yanya - Painless (huge step up from her debut, which was also great - Midnight Sun is an absolute banger)
2.) Spoon - Lucifer on the Sofa (was pleasantly surprised by this, as I was lukewarm on their last LP - Wild and Hardest Cut were awesome) 3.) Caroline - Caroline (buzzy British post-rock punks - this was *interesting* but didn't really grab me, maybe not my cup of tea)
4.) Hurray for the Riff Raff - Life on Earth (I wanted to like this but I keep getting distracted, not my favorite of hers)
5.) Alex Cameron - Oxy Music (I love Alex and Roy, but this was maybe the worst album I've heard this year. Goddamn.)

This is really great. Debut by System Exclusive. Looked up their tour and they're playing a free show at the Bottle on April 18th. Pretty sick.
