Really love the new FJM. I don’t know if more bangers would fit the motif he’s going for here but he captures such a fantastic vibe that I don’t know if I would change any of it. The Next 20th Century is one of my favorite tracks of his

I'm with wanny unfortunately, Chloe was a pretty big snooze. I'd agree that Next 20th Century is probably the best song on the album, curious choice to bury it all the way at the end of the album. Oh well, on to Vince Staples next

Simultaneously think that half the Wet Leg album is pretty fun and that I'm so tired of talky British bands.

Angelica and Ur Mum are my faves. Oh No is def my least fave. Shoulda gone to see this band when they did a 200-cap club show last fall.

New Oceanator album is great and it's named after a line from Empire Records, so Rex Manning Day is an ideal time to check it out.

Wet Leg is fun though I think the singles are the best parts of it. Hoping the whole thing stayed up to that quality but it doesn't necessarily. But overall liked it
I think I actually like this Jack White album? I think the last one is just complete and utter garbage but this one I'm actually enjoying so far
Edit- I enjoyed the last few songs on Jack White less so maybe I spoke too soon but I certainly don't hate it overall. It would be better if like 10 minutes were cut from this album because some of these songs are a minute or two too long and overstay their welcome.

I don't hate the new Jack White, which is probably the nicest thing I'll say about Jack White in 2022.

Edit- I enjoyed the last few songs on Jack White less so maybe I spoke too soon but I certainly don't hate it overall This is somewhat surprising since "Morning, Noon and Night" is probably the song on this album that can most easily fit right onto any White Stripes album.

I'm gonna see David Grubbs do a set with Eli Winter tonight - anyone have any favorite Gastr del Sol records I should listen to in advance?

You're not completely wrong but it was another song I thought would be better if it was two minutes shorter.

I made it through one and a half songs before tapping out. It sucks

I'm probably not going to listen to the Jack White album.
The Linda Lindas album was a lot of fun.
Annie Blackman album was awesome, but all but one of the songs was already out, so I knew this.
Wet Leg was cool, but I'll second that the singles are the best stuff on it.

Not sure I really “get” this Black Country, New Road album. Felt similarly about the one from last year.

The new RHCP album is a fun mix of genuinely good songs and a few of the worst songs they've ever made.
Hoping to get a relatively cheap ticket to that show at Soldier Field w/ The Strokes and Thundercat.

There's no way I'm supposed to take this chili peppers album seriously after "aquatic mouth dance" am I
Edit: how did no one stop anthony kedis from singing "Give me the love, and I'll tell you when I'll wanna come" in 2022 lord have mercy we live in a barn
Double Edit: "The Great Apes" is just such yuge "who gives a fuck" and we're trending back upward. This is officially now better than the Jack White album.
Triple edit: The timer said it was 25 minutes since I last checked in. Sure enough, this album is still on. It's just nice to hear the non-Kedis portions of this band together again, though he gets out of the way a good chunk of the time on some of these to let them do music which is cool. Again, better than the Jack White album. Not actually a "great" album but a "good" or possibly a "Good" album. There are still 4 more songs left on this album which is at least 50% of the problem but he just namedropped "the south side of Chicago" so now I guess it trends up again. Really hate these guys!

The first 3 songs on the new Jack White album rip, then it just gets shitty. Glad to see he isn't playing anything else besides those 3 really.
What the Trick? is pretty good too

The new Sault album is alright, it does not sound like the previous albums at all. It's much more of an orchestra thing, much more like a movie soundtrack than anything else. It's fine, just not what I was hoping for.
Not a lot for me in the new music department today, new Kurt Vile, Swedish House Mafia and Alex G are the big ones today

Not as good as "Charmed" but the samples on here are excellent. Definitely reminds me a bit of old school Avalanches.

Late on this, but the new Black Country, New Road album is fucking fantastic. I had tried listening to it the day it was released but wasn't in the right mood - really glad I decided to revisit it.
