Been completely obsessed with this Brazilian record: Secos & Molhados - A volta de Secos & Molhados since hearing the first two tracks on WFMU last week. An addictive kaleidoscope of sound. Equal parts YES, acid rock, and pastoral folk. I absolutely love it.

Equal parts YES, acid rock, and pastoral folk. I absolutely love it. Between these guys and my recent fixations with Caetano Veloso and Airto Moreira, I can feel a strong Brazilian phase coming my way.

I got halfway thru the Wilco album before I got pinged but it was pretty good. Shout out to the Stereogum writer whose review of this album was basically “fuck it it’s a Wilco album and I love them” which is more or less my take these days

Goin' to the Village Vanguard for the first time tonight! Will spend the day listening exclusively to albums recorded at the Vanguard - starting off with two heaters. (seeing Cecile McLorin Salvant - who put on one of my favorite Big Ears sets back in March)

A breathtaking album that I wish I had listened to before making my 70s list I’ve listened to this like 20 times in the last month. Seriously one of the best albums ever.

This is very good. I'm amazed how they can take such extended breaks and then pick up again without missing a beat. Really excited for their show in a couple of weeks.

Just finished my first listen-thru and enjoyed the back-half much more than the front half. Cousin, Pittsburgh, and Meant to Be are all excellent tracks. Ngl most Wilco since like Star Wars has been in-one-ear out the other, so I’m very happy to be wanting to immediately re-listen to the new one.

I have laughed out loud at some of the songs on this Drake album and I don't think that's the intention?

This one still rocks. "Useful Chamber" is such a great track. There was a VERITABLE UPROAR when I listed it as my second favorite album of the oughts. I stand by it.

New Sufjan is wonderful. Have listened three times since yesterday and there's still so much left to unpack. Same goes for the AnCo record, which has rewarded repeated listens.

A few months late to this one, but it's great as usual. Feels like it'll have more replay value / accessibility than most woods projects for me - excited to see him again at Big Ears.

Numero Group's Paper Airplanes, Paper Hearts, which compiles the complete discography of Everyone Asked About You, gets my vote for Reissue of the Year. This is an absolute jam, extremely recommended for fans of Rainer Maria, Tiger Trap, maybe even The Anniversary?

First time listening to Unwound - I was feeling alright about this but something clicked during "Demons Sing Love Songs" and now I'm hooked.
