I will not be listening to a 2-hour Taylor Swift album FFS I can’t even slog through the 122 minute alleged AOTY contender by VU/early 60s cosplayer Cindy Lee, let alone two hours of TayTay.

There’s a versions of the Taylor album that’s only an hour long that I’m currently like a third into. It’s pretty boring so far.
Also listened to the cloud nothings album, which was a cloud nothings album

Speaking as one of the board stans for Taylor, this album is definitely her worst since Lover. Just really unnecessary, seems like there was really no reason to put this one out so quickly. Agreed that the production is pretty uninspired for the most part, although I did appreciate the few Dessner moments in there. No idea how Glenn Kotche is credited with drums on a few tracks, I didn't even hear percussion on one or two of those. There was a small handful of decent tracks (I think "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" and "Clara Bow" but it was hard to keep track in the middle of all that), but they were few and far between. Too bad.

How can this be about her relationships if there are no references to out routes and 2 tight end formations

What’s worse? Taylor’s “I Hate it Here” or Wilco’s where Tweedy is like *sigh* “I guess I’ll mow the lawn”?

This is baaaaaad.
Like, not the music for the most part, but the lyrics are cringey. Listing groceries would have worked out better.

Listing groceries would have worked out better. Perhaps I can interest you in an AOTY candidate with a lead-off track featuring packing list lyrics?

The new album by Couch Slut is scratching that noise rock sweet spot for me.

Anyone who has time to listen to a 2 hour Swift album surely has time for a 2 hour Cindy Lee record.

I am working my way through the TSwift record and all I can think is this why we shouldn't have billionaires
Thought the Cindy Lee record was fine.

I hated that song when it first came out and disliked SBS. Now I love SBS and kinda dig the song. We all grow up.

Ok TPD….
I could get behind this much more as a 16 song album than I can as a 31 song content dump. I don’t know whether the second half is worse than the first or if I’m just bored with the content / production by the time I get there. I remember saying that the last Big Thief record was going to suffer from length and it ended up being my favorite album of the year so who knows….but at least with that record the songs varied and I never got bored. I’m still not entirely sure what TPD is supposed to be. Is this a standard album and fifteen outtakes or is this a double album? Because that matters in terms of how I would rate it.
In summary…..production is technically proficient but all a little samey sounding and lacks teeth, content places an exaggerated importance on Matty Healy….I think Taylor just made a 1975 album.

Given that the physical release of the album is the original 16 tracks and one bonus track, I'd consider the additional tracks as outtakes

That album is truly an all rips, no skips. Was #1 on my 80s list and I still stand by that. The most punk album ever recorded. Endlessly fresh. Ever important.
