Vegas trip is less than a month away and has a decidedly smaller group attending than I was expecting, which is kind of good. My buddy made reservations at Best Friend and Esther's Kitchen.
I've never seen a show in Vegas and would like to do that at some point.

The nurse who was giving me my flu shot yesterday thought she could just walk up to the venue and grab a U2 ticket when she's there this weekend.

In a fun development, it is now considerably cheaper for us to fly into Lexington rather than Louisville or Cincinnati when we're going back to see family/friends. United just added a direct option that is actually at a reasonable time. Lexington has a tiny airport and is basically across the street from Keeneland, so much preferred to either Louisville (entire airport smells like Quiznos) or Cincy (Ohio).

Anybody have suggestions for Madrid is November? We'll have 3 generations from my 10yo to my near 80yo parents so touristy stuff and food recs would be awesome.
Trying to find show listings too so the Mrs. and I can sneak away one night but all I've been able to find so far is an EitS show and Mrs. Five_Hole wasn't excited about that.

The Distillery District is newish and is a pretty great collection of food/beer spots. If you have a chance to get out of town for a bit, Woodford Reserve is the best actual distillery nearby. Keeneland is worth a visit even if they won't be hosting races. There's a stretch in the Chevy Chase neighborhood that has Bourbon and Toulouse (one of my favorite divey food spots), Chevy Chase Inn (cheap beer at a bar owned by the same dudes) and a Graeter's right across the street for some ice cream.
In terms of breweries, West Sixth, Ethereal, Mirror Twin and Blue Stallion are good choices. Country Boy has some dudes that work there who are hardcore MAGA, which sucks because the beer is decent.

That stretch around West Sixth used to be a pretty crappy neighborhood but they've done a nice job of turning it around without booting the folks who lived there originally.
OH and for breakfast - go to Minton's.

I made a Res for Carsons Food & Drink for NYE because it was available without a set menu and seemed to be in a solid proximity to the arena. I assume solid?

Yeah that's a good spot. Honestly probably the best option within walking distance of Rupp.

What's good in Grand Rapids? Specifically looking for coffee and a late lunch/ early dinner, both downtown.
Oh also delicious baked goods, always.

Any recommendations on where to stay in Philadelphia would be appreciated. Never been and looking for a central spot with good food/stuff to do in the vicinity, and I have no idea what I'm looking at when I'm checking Airbnb for available places. This trip is booked. Taking the red eye on a Thursday night and getting in early Friday morning - will be there through the weekend for the marathon. I ended up booking a spot near-ish the convention center. Not a whole lot of options available that are walkable to the marathon course, but I'm happy with the spot I ended up with. Anyway, all recommendations appreciated. I'm putting together my travel map and already have some historical/museum spots picked out. airportman if you're free at all the weekend of the 17th let me know. Bump. Race/trip is this weekend. Any recommendations are appreciated. My insane map is looking pretty damn good, though.

There was a ton of stuff near that Rittenhouse Square, really loved the Federal Donuts near there, highly recommend that. Best bar I went to I think was Bourbon & Branch, my cousin took me to 3 or 4 bars that night, that one had the best whiskey selection.

Any non-seafood-forward suggestions for dining in Las Vegas (besides Bouchon for brunch)?
We'll go out for dinner once or twice on our short trip to see U2 later next week. Last time we were there, we went to a couple of spots that were overpriced/lackluster including Giada's restaurant (which was both overpriced and lackluster).
Hoping to squeeze in one nice dinner and probably something more casual if I get lucky and snag some reasonably-priced secondary market tickets for the NBA in-season tournament west semi-final on Thursday night.

We go to Las Vegas quite a bit, but I’m realizing we eat a lot of seafood when we are there. Since mrs ten15 works for Lettuce Entertain You, I will Stan for a couple of their spots: Mon Ami Gabi (French bistro) in the Paris hotel, or RPM Italian (they also have steak and seafood) in the Caesars Palace shops. It’s pricey, but Prime at Bellagio is a very good steakhouse. We’ve enjoyed Scarpetta’s at Cosmopolitan, but it has been awhile. Avoid any of the Gordon Ramsay outlets, unless you go to the Pub in Caesars - but that is better for lunch.

I ate at a Gordon Ramsey place when we did Vegas for my bachelor party. Was high as fuck and remember nothing about it. Gordon Ramsey was there tho. Highly recommended.

Our single "go every time" in Vegas is Craftsteak in MGM.
The best, though, was Guy Savoy.

We go to Las Vegas quite a bit, but I’m realizing we eat a lot of seafood when we are there. I noticed this when I searched the thread before posting my request for recos. ;-) I’m down with seafood, but Mrs. Doso does not fuck with anything from the ocean. Or the lake/river, for that matter.
