Been reading Steven Hyden's excellent Twilight of the Gods and was moved by a chapter on the Allman Brothers to check out Cameron Crowe's 1973 Rolling Stone piece on the band. Fascinating read for anyone interested in the band, especially in regards to how Gregg & Co. dealt with the loss of Duane and Berry Oakley.

i'd never heard of this caroline before last night but it seems like pretty run of the mill toxic friendship stuff to me (well-written though).

this story about a fentanyl ring is scary as hell but a good read.

this story about a fentanyl ring is scary as hell but a good read. I started this last night before going to sleep and thought it was too sad so I stopped. Finished this morning though and it’s wild. I know a decent amount about Fentanyl because of my wife’s line of work but I didn’t really understand the scope of it.

I read that article as well. While I think those type of experiences are an outlier, what's more disturbing to me was Airbnb's lack of response even after being presented with a mountain of evidence. I think I'm done with that company, at least for the time being.

We went to one out in the Driftless near La Crosse that we will definitely stay at again but beyond that I really do not feel the need to use it again anytime soon.

Yeah for the record I've never had a bad experience with them, and I've used Airbnb plenty. I don't fear being scammed, it's more about not wanting to give business to a company that doesn't protect or stand behind its customers.
