Probably a better movie than Up, for starters Oh fucking hell I thought you were alright now I gotta completely re-do my boarder rankings this just upends my entire day I hope you're very happy with yourself here Thinking I was alright was your first mistake. Thinking that Up delivers anything original and does anything interesting other than making people cry at the beginning and the end was your second. Also it’s a decent film but it’s in the bottom half of Pixar for me

I was like "YES MIAMI BLUES!" and then I was like "Wait, isn't that from the '80s or early '90s?" and then I was like, "Oh, they made a movie about Miami Vice."

I haven’t seen enough movies to vote in the polls y’all start, much less submit any sort of list.

If we do "most entertaining movies" or limited it to mainstream cinema somehow, I bet it would be a much easier set of polls
I'm working on putting together a list, half based on what comes to mind, and half by crawling through the movies thread

I could probably put together a fine list if we are limiting it to 2000-2010, as I still actually went to theaters on a regular basis. Now, I prolly see 4 or 5 movies a year at a theater.

Folks who have Watchmen on their list should not throw stones in the Miami Vice direction.

excited for you guys to put together quite possibly the most bro-y collection of films the world has ever seen we just need to consolidate the effort so its not two arbitrary movies pitted up against each other every morning on the front page this way, it will be a collection of 64 arbitrary movies that we can all argue about at the same time, on a different front page

I hate it a lot less than most folks seem to. I don’t know that I’d call it good, though.

Can we ban Shawshank Redemption from all lists? People only think it’s good because they watch it on TNT every other night

I hate it a lot less than most folks seem to. I don’t know that I’d call it good, though. it still holds up incredibly well imo. especially as a fan of the graphic novel. aside from the changed ending which on some level i actually like more than the novel but as xam pointed out, not everyone else did. (again, i get it)

There Will Be Blood is my favorite movie.
Are we allowed to like Manchester by the Sea around here? That's the last movie I can think of (at least from this time period) that just destroyed me/had the most emotional effect on me.

In retrospect I did see a few movies in this time period and I can probably put a decent list of like 15-20 together.

I don't have time to watch a lot of movies anymore but I can expertly say that you should be safe to ban Shawshank Redemption from a thread of best movies of the 2000s. I can't put my finger on why but I bet there's a reason.
