I forgot about the Raid series. I have a friend who rates all movies he sees on a scale of 1 to The Raid 2, and it's a good system.

I still remember how bad the raid 2 trailer was and than finding out its 2 and a half hours long and than being the only people in the multiplex in random college town on the friday of opening night and just not being excited and than yelling with joy the entire 3 hours.

it is pathetic how unbalanced my music v movie knowledge is I used to keep up with movies well up til my daughter was born, then I pretty much had to choose between devoting time to music, movies or tv, so I pretty much had to focus on music. Damn kids.

In the Mood For Love Dancer in the Dark Antichrist Requiem for a Dream The Piano Teacher Mullholland Dr Royal Tenenbaums Lost in Translation Before Sunset Synecdoche NY Dogtooth Four Lions Frances Ha 12 Years a Slave Her Goodbye to Language Carol Moonlight There Will be Blood No country for old men Ghost World Addendum after looking at letterboxd: Burn After Reading Oceans 11 Amores Perros In Bruges Saraband The Five Obstructions Talk to Her Incendies About Time Ida Mommy The Forbidden Room There's a few I either have over-inflated views of or under-inflated views of that I probably need to watch again in a better context to see how I enjoy them this go around, but they would be in contention for a similar list: Holy Motors The Spectacular Now The Kings of Summer Shame Hard to Be a God Calgary A Touch of Sin Norte: The End of History End of the Tour Nocturnal Animals This is fun.

I just signed up for Letterboxd. Kind of depressing how many of the top movies I haven't seen.
Also was just thinking that Amelie and In Bruges are probably the movies I've seen most of the ones in consideration. I'm pulled in by location apparently.

Been waiting for the criterion of 4 months. You can see a cover in the background of one of the features on the Apu trilogy but that came out in 2015 and still nothing.

I initially knew icheckmovies as a social site and enjoyed it a lot but recently fell off because it made watching movies feel like a chore. Got back into letterboxd recently though because I knew I'd be pissed if I didn't track what I saw this year.

Sadly it depends on how much the fanbase personally bothers you.
I do think Borat is hilarious but maybe it does more harm than good, giving a world of frat bros quotes about Jews and wife's vagines.
