I listened to Rock Central Plaza and Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson last night while i couldn't sleep because of diarrhea remember how both of those acts disappeared after a couple very strong albums? the 2000s baabybbyyy Wait, your diarrhea arrived before the fest? That suuuucks.

I have so many multiples by artists taking up tons of slots. Gotta try to cut some of these.

I have three Sleater-Kinneys and three Radioheads and I'm going back and forth on trimming those... I have a lot of artists with two albums but I don't think that's unreasonable.

Preliminary list up, dissect if you will. Some of the rap/hip hop ranks higher b/ it's fresh in mind mind (I've spent the last few years delving into the genre more). I'm sure i'll make some more adjustments but right now this is what I'm feeling.

You prefer Room on Fire to Is This It?

Yes, and I think it's mostly b/c I was introduced to the Strokes with that album and it just stuck with me stronger than Is This It.

That was an excellent list, Timbo. I've been spending the last week or so researching albums that were off my radar / I just hadn't heard before and I'm going to try and listen to at least one highly ranked album from each person's list that is new to me. Added the Califone record to the queue from yours!

One of the first bands I ever got into. If you like indie rock that has some elements of U2/arena rock you'll like them.

What's the best way to find out what albums were released in a year - wikipedia?
Remember when Pitchfork let people make those list of their 100 favorite albums since Pitchfork's birth? Wish those were still around.

It takes some legwork but I did it by flipping through a bunch of lists from the usual publications. Also, I just brought up my favorite artists on Spotify and looked at what albums they'd put out in the timeframe.

I'm really having a hard time getting started with this, too, although I admittedly haven't thought about it in earnest. I think my top 5 is
1. Modest Mouse- The Moon and Antarctica 2. Madvillain - Madvillainy 3. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca 4. The National - Alligator 5. J Dilla - Donuts
but I have no idea.
