I missed Coachella in 2017 which was the first year I skipped it. Since then not really.

I’m going to St.Louis to see family next weekend, but I wouldn’t really call that a vacation.

In hopes of jump starting your fomo, here's a basic outline of my days:
FRI: Let's Eat Grandma -> Ross From Friends -> Walker & Royce -> Beach Fossils -> JPEGMAFIA -> first few minutes of Kero Kero -> Kacey Musgraves -> back half of Tierra Whack -> Rosalia -> U.S. Girls -> SOPHIE -> Nina Kraviz//Charlotte Gainsbourg -> Yves Tumor. May try and fit in some of that three person tech house B2B between Gainsbourg and Yves.
SAT: serpentwithfeet -> shame -> Hop Along -> Soulection//Âme//DJ Seinfeld -> De La Soul (if I can get in) -> Pete Tong b2b -> J Balvin -> Christine and the Queens -> Aphex Twin -> Tame Impala -> Stephan Bodzin
SUN: Razorbumps -> Cola Boyy -> Iceage -> Pusha T -> Men I Trust -> Bad Bunny//Lizzo -> Blood Orange -> Beer? -> Perfume -> Jon Hopkins//CHVRCHES -> first couple Ariana songs -> Kaytranada -> final couple Ariana songs

It is amazing how much stronger today is compared to Sat/Sun. Seriously Friday really feels like a “Coachella” day

Radiohead in 2017 was the only egregious sound issue that affected the PA and booth. anything else has been minor stage sound problems in my experience. but i've been saying every fest i go to is having more and more problems with PA's cutting out and mic's dying. i swear there's only 1 system in the whole country and they all just keep rotating it around

So I just spent 30 minutes typing something up and accidentally closed my browser window before I finished, so here's a condensed summary of my Coachella 2019 takeaways: - Big THANK YOU to (I think) concertgoer for the tip on Embassy Suites. It was an awesome location and property. We definitely felt spoiled staying there at that price. - We went to the Living Desert zoo while waiting for check-in and it's very cool and I got to ride a camel. - Starting the shuttles an hour later let us sleep in a bit more and walk right through security. - The relocation of the Central Market worked out wonderfully. - The Sonora is bigger and no longer an icebox. - Lizzo, Aphex Twin and Gainsbourg were the highlights of the weekend. Gambino was good, Ariana's set was uneven and I didn't see Impala. The twenty minutes I saw of Gesaffelstein were very good. Blackpink and Perfume were both fun. - Postmates pickup was ok. - Food was generally pretty good but Dad received some inedible dumplings and I was so concerned with Wing Man's service I inspected my chicken to make sure I wasn't going to get food poisoning. - Moving the merch indoors worked out generally well. - Weather was great. - Art was good as always. Hippos were the MVPs. I love those crazy fuckers and know one day they will get that ship off the ground. So definitely not the best Coachella ever but we still had lots of fun. If you want to hear more about specific band or anything else, AMA.

My friend (the one you met here in Madison) volunteered in his campaign office in college briefly when he was a political science major so he would have some experience and apparently he is a tremendous asshole to everyone on his staff, especially if you’re lower on the totem pole. After the campaign finance shit came out he couldn’t even use it on a resume either lol

Apparently Ari got 8 million total which makes sense considering she had to reschedule a decent chunk of her tour+ cancel a few shows.

I can't imagine how much of a mess this will be. I'd also be wary to leave my campsite...theft was apparently an issue last weekend and I bet it'll be worse during this thing.
