Seems insane to me that like 20 teams decided to just draft some guy who will play in the d-league for a couple years and maybe get called up to play 8-10 minutes a game after an injury instead of a talented 7'2"guy who who even if he never plays because of his foot injury at least has the opportunity to make a serious impact

Hornets fans are pretty narrow-minded. They get mad if they don't draft NC players. They were very excited about PJ Hairston.

Also, the D league seems to work pretty well? At least for the Hornets, I see 2-3 guys absolutely earning those 8-10 minutes and 1-2 of them being on the permanent roster next season (Bacon, Graham for sure... probably).

It's not that it doesn't work but it's more that these few minute fill in players are a dime a dozen. Bol Bol was the only guy over 7 feet tall who was even a draft possibility.

I'm listening to the Zach Lowe pod and Jonathan Givony just said Coby White is ultimately a Jordan Clarkson/Patty Mills type off the bench. Sounds about right.

Also I am in the 99th percentile of loving Romeo Langford and I think the Celtics got a future All-Star there.
I also said the same thing about Miles Bridges last year though so I am probably not smart.

A little early to dismiss Miles. It's not as if he regressed in his first season?

I still like Miles a lot but I overrate every Big Ten player since that's the only college basketball I watch.
If a guy dominates the Illini, he is going to the hall of fame.

Rockets are gonna torpedo what's left of their team chemistry signing Butler and the Knicks are gonna offer Durant the max and he'll inevitably fall off a cliff when he returns because Knicks.
Free agency is gonna be fantastic

Well it'd be better than going to the Knicks, so that's something.

Because I've been reading that noted team-chemistry killer Kyrie is heading there already (at the expense of D'Angelo Russell, which, woof)

Butler will obviously do good, useful things anywhere but him+old cp3+harden is such a weird fit. Plus he hates catch-and-shoot 3s and loves the mid-range. Meanwhile folks are saying the Sixers are courting Horford which probably means Tobias is gone

Jimmy on Houston is definitely a weird basketball fit, but I would be extremely happy for him if he gets the max to play in his home state. Easily my favorite player in the NBA.
Personally I hope he stays with the Sixers.

The press with Kemba... Saying that the Celtics are top of the list to sign him.
So let me gets this straight, two of their best players are leaving and he's going to take a FUCKTON less money to sign with them?
Okay.

Shams said talks between Charlotte and Kemba are at a stalemate. What could that possibly be about?

I hate to say this because I don't like the Mavs but Kemba on the Mavericks (assuming they are still pursuing him) is way more fun than Kemba on the Celtics

The Mavs make sense.
I can/can't believe MJ lowballed him. :/

The Mavs make sense. I can/can't believe MJ lowballed him. :/ The team is so horribly constructed that resigning Kemba would just guarantee more 35 win seasons. I think the future is bright there. They'll have basically a blank slate after this year with a few interesting young players and a top pick in a loaded draft.

True... But it still gonna hurt. I love Kemba.
I'm gonna like him less if he signs with a dumb team, though. The Mavs is like the only good option for him, imho, assuming a ring is the most important thing, not the locale.

Supposedly, MJ offered him only $160 million. Kemba said weeks ago he would be willing to take less, but that's definitely pushing it. So sad.

Honestly, if Kemba is going to leave this town, he needs to go to LA now that the Lakers have the cash. Guaranteed ring, imo.

Been seeing some stuff online about people shocked/surprised that Davis waived his $4mil trade bonus but I guarantee that is getting paid back with the Space Jam 2 money
