Think I’m gonna re-read Albini / Big Black’s chapter of Our Band Could Be Your Life tomorrow. Seeing the tributes pour in online is reminding me the colossal number of albums I love that he had a hand in. Spent the day listening to Songs Ohia, Dirty Three, PJ Harvey, Jesus Lizard, Wedding Present, Electrelane, Low, and Big Black. Just finished this chapter on my commute home and, man, what a wild fuckin’ dude. Not to mention an absolute powerhouse.

Dennis "Machine Gun" Thompson (second from right), drummer and last surviving member of MC5's classic lineup passed away the other day. Has me thinking of the depressing, nearing prospect of "extinct" bands. Really broke me up on similar grounds when Tommy Ramone passed a while back.

Tom Kenny, aka Spongebob Squarepants, on vocals. After seeing him on the street before the show and even during his opening set as hack comic “Kenzie Matthews”, I was certain it was Bob Odenkirk until he was later introduced as Tom Kenny.

rango, my only ramones sets were them opening for iggy at the aragon with everyone but tommy, and after the original four all died, marky ramone at riot fest as an alternative to the my chemical romance re-union clusterfuck. that's it.

Wtf seems disrespectful for the OG Ramones to be opening for anyone - that's wild But I'm also a bit of an Iggy hater so maybe that clouds my judgment

Bill Walton, who I assume never got to see the dead at the sphere. Is a bummer he did see them 850 other times, probably most of those with Jerry, and not John Mayer.

Hated Bill Walton as a kid for his anti-Bulls boss. Grew to very much appreciate him. This is huge bummer.
