What a juxtaposition between someone who brought joy for so many and someone else who rained shit upon his employees and the public.

Just popped on Euphoria Morning for the first time in a couple years. Such an underrated album. One of the first I memorized all of the lyrics to front to back.

Say Hello 2 Heaven Down On The Upside and Euphoria Morning got me through high school. Seriously. Ugh. It was Superunknown for me. I even had a Superunknown T-shirt. It glowed in the dark. I'm shocked. Dude was a hell of a singer. R.I.P.

Soundgarden opened for Soul Asylum at a half empty (Cabaret) Metro in 1988 a few months before Ultramega OK was released. They were not very good, but I really got into Louder Than Love when it showed up at my college radio station. Never saw Chris Cornell perform again, but yeah, what a great voice. And a lot of very good tunes, too.

been a wreck all morning :/ dude was legitimately one of my first favorite musicians (we tried to cover soundgarden a hundred times in high school but of course i cant sing those high notes for shit) and always seemed like of the best guys. seeing SG's reunion at lolla 2010 is still one of the strongest memories for any concert for me ever. never got to see Audioslave but i still happily defend them. so fucking sad i couldn't seen one of these Temple of the Dog comeback shows. his solo stuff is gorgeous and im happy i talked my parents into seeing him in peoria last year. this actually feels worse than losing Bowie last year for me, considering how young he was and the talks of it possibly being suicide. he was still touring constantly and in good health. fucking tragic.

#hottake: I actually liked Euphoria Morning more than any Soundgarden album Same. I have a weird connection to that album, admittedly. Still holds up so incredibly well. That said, I still love Soundgarden.

I saw him once, in 2003 with Audioslave. Which was fine but that was probably my least favorite of his projects.

Superunknown is how I was introduced to Soundgarden, and will always be my favorite album of his/theirs.

I remember this record store in my hometown had a sampler cassette each month (I think the promo was called Concrete Corner) and in fall 91 they had one that featured some of the then burgeoning Seattle grunge bands. I knew who AIC were but the rest was brand new. My brother and I thought it was the most awesome thing ever and saved up our lawnmowing money to buy the albums from our favorite groups from the sampler. He bought Nevermind, I bought Badmotorfinger. There's never been a day where I've thought he got the better album.
