Gutted.
So grateful I got to see him, even if it was just the once. Time to spin Unbroken Chain and Box of Rain all night. Then maybe a compilation of him yelling at various jackasses in the crowd.

She played kidzapalooza numerous times over the years.

Roy Haynes, jazz drumming legend, at 99. Dude played with literally everyone, including major records by Monk (Misterioso), Coltrane (Impressions), Pharoah (Thembi), Oliver Nelson, and Eric Dolphy - among many, many others. Last surviving member of the Blues and the Abstract Truth band. Gonna pour a drink and spin that one tonight.  |
