Fischman is opening their bar again a week from today. Didn't see that posted here. So excited. Gonna be a restaurant too.

Yeah, I’m pretty thrilled too. Won’t be around for the opening, but hopefully the week after.

Going to Portland and Oregon in general next week. What are the best beers?
Not big on porters and stouts. Big on hoppy, Belgian & German-ish, or sour/farmhouse.
Looks like Cascade in Portland is the best for the latter.

Has anyone added bitters to beer? I just found out that was a thing and I think going to do some experimenting this weekend

I have not heard of that and I am skeptical.

apparently that used to be the case but that has since been deemed a very bad idea so now it's make your own coffee ipa.
they do give you a tour of the barrel warehouse tho with unlimited free samples of bcbs in different stages of barreling. which was great but i had to drive so also sad.

On Monday, Block Club Chicago published a short feature about the brewery under the headline "Small But Mighty Urban Renewal Brewing Plans To Grow In Ravenswood." Some Chicagoans responded by taking to social media to express outrage about the "tone-deaf" name of the brewery and the name of its IPA—"Razed."

Grimm is randomly available in Colorado. That's pretty great news, although I'm thinking it's a very limited distribution.

That is surprising, especially since their local distribution has tapered off with the opening of their taproom last month. Very nice that you at least have a chance to get it out there, though!

I know Crooked Stave has their own distribution arm that they've been using to get smaller breweries in the state, so that might be it. It may also be a one off, who knows. The beer that was posted is Icing on the Cake.

If any of the DC boarders are craft beer fans: Other Half will be selling a couple of their beers at The Bruery's DC bottle shop on August 18 and 11am (one of them is Double Mosaic Daydream which is pretty great).
They'll also have like 20 of their beers pouring at Churchkey that same afternoon. Try the Mmm... Fruit w/ Plums if you go and you're a fan of sours.

The beer that was posted is Icing on the Cake. I don't think I've tried that one yet. Hard for me to get excited about stouts in the summer. Crooked Stave has been appearing here this year - maybe they're running a truck back and forth between the two locales...

It's possible. They're the reason we get Solemn Oath, Pipeworks and Off Color from Chicago.

Happy Oktoberfest season! Just got a six-pack of the Left Hand Oktoberfest earlier - best American Marzen by a long shot.
