Goose Island Homebrewer's Club tonight -- I'll post what the special #rare beers Goose Island will bring out. As I mentioned last month, they brought out BCBS raspberry variant along with OOP GI beers.

Excited to have Cigar City available in Colorado. I had heard about Oskar Blues buying them out a couple months back, but just started seeing beer pop up at bars and liquor stores this weekend.

Oh I had no idea they'd started distributing that far. Still haven't seen any in Columbus. I went on vacation in Florida a couple years ago and managed to stop in Cigar City in Tampa. Loved everything I tried.

We hung out at Independence Tap in our hood on Friday night and they had Cafe Deth, Sucaba, and Vanilla Might Meets Right from Temperance on, as well as some barrel-aged scotch ale from GI that I didn't try. That was an enjoyable evening.

Paging xam:
The ninth edition of the Denver Rare Beer Tasting will take place on Oct. 6, during the GABF weekend. More than 50 of America's top craft breweries will be serving rare, exotic and vintage beers to raise funds for the Pints for Prostates campaign. Tickets for the event go on sale on Father's Day, June 18th at 10 a.m. (MT).
This or What the Funk fest are arguably better and less overwhelming than GABF.

I've had the Crimson Snapper, but can't remember where. I liked it quite a bit.

I don't like honey in my beer so I've actively ignored that whole series. Maybe I should give it a shot sometime.

Speaking of honey in drinks, the bartender at our local bistro makes spicy honey and mixes it into a delicious cocktail called the Messy Mezcal.

I tried something interesting yesterday. It was Kees Vanilla Fudge Stout. Hard to drink straight, but with food, very nice.

My buddy and I brewed an Oberon clone yesterday. Added coriander at the end to mimic the spice. Hope it turns out.

I don't have the link handy, but 3F and Mikkeller are launching their War Pigs brewery here. It's being contract brewed at a facility in the city and one in Wisconsin. They're having a launch party for their three flagship beers at Emporium WP on Friday. They already have a brewpub in Copenhagen under the name and with the same three beers.

Annnnnnd AB/InBev has bought an unspecified share in RateBeer. But the deal isn’t exactly new. In fact, it closed this past October following eight months of talks. It went unannounced, however—to both the public and RateBeer stakeholders—because the two sides wanted to get “points on the board” to prove the value of the partnership without the “disruption” of making it public. Today, though, AB InBev confirmed to GBH that it has, in fact, invested in the website.
Ugggggggggggggggggh.

World of Beer should have them all, too. Or at least they generally do. I've had about 6 of them so far - Mikeller one was kind of disappointing, but otherwise they've all been pretty solid.

Oh nice. Pretty much all of their six-pack options are very good. Particularly fond of their IPA and the Cutthroat Porter.

Haven't been beer-shopping around here in a minute, but Odell being around is awesome. I generally love their stuff.
