They make Half Acre Bodem in 12 packs now which was a wild and dangerous thing to learn. Also got some Lo Rez Saison and a 6-er of Indio which I only bought cause I'm Coachella-nostalgic hardcore now. Not the best, not the worst! dij22 Marz would be a 2 hour walk roundtrip for me but if the weather gets nice during this imma do it |

Shelton Brothers distribution is closing down it's Kansas City location which means beer from Prairie Artisan Ales, Crooked Stave, Jolly Pumpkin, and a few others will no longer be available in the city apparently. This is very not good news for me as those three do a lot of great beers.

I have a 750 of some off color in my fridge. As far as sours they dont really hit the mark for me but the rest of their stuff has been solid.
I just finished a bourbon barrel aged World Wide Stout @ 17.3% abv aged in Sam Adam's Utopia barrels. Fantastic beer.

I am drinking an off Color Town Musician (their maibock) which is quite good for a brewery that doesn't do that kind of thing. They are prob the most hit or miss brewery in Chicago because e they try so many styles but when they hit they hit hard We picked up the 5x 4pack of new beers and than the mix large format bottle last week from mousetrap. Already worked through the BA Growl which I thought was pretty medium bodied for a 10% barrel aged beer which made it dangerously drinkable but certainly nothing spectacular. Also drank thru the You Can Never Take Me Anywhere which I also thought was pretty great for the style altho I dono if I would pick it over a Weistephaner.
Have been getting Gnown Gnome and Beer for Tacos from the corner store before this beer run for the fridge both of which are pretty great.

The Dovetail Rauchbier is really outstanding for a cold spring and they couldn't be nicer if you have a car they'll bring it right out and put it in there for ya

Can’t comment on their niceness, but it’s a v good beer. Kind of a one and done deal cuz smoke, but it’s probably the best of the style that I’ve had.

There probably wasnt ever a great time to put millions of dollars into expanding into also being a distillery but it certainly wasn't the last 6 months.
