Nicely done. My brother wanted to get that sent me the link for it the evening that it was announced, but it had already sold out.

The pizza place we go to has this on tap, it's my favorite discovery in a while. Been keeping an eye out for packs of it but no luck so far.

It should be back in circulation now, but check untapped, it'll tell you where it's at. If I see it in KC I'll grab ya some. Def one of the best session sours out there.

Not technically a beer, and no idea if they've expanded their distribution enough to be available in Chicago, but Stem Ciders out of Denver has a new flavor available called Chile Guava, and it is fucking incredible. A little bit of spice on the tail end. Basically seek it out if you can. And if you're visiting Denver, you should stop in at Stem - really great spot.

A quick search on Binny's shows that flavor is pretty much out of stock and was replaced by Stem Cider Lava Flow. I'm guessing it's seasonal?

Nope, the Stem Ciders website says it's year-round.

Lava Flow is seasonal - so I don't know, maybe they're just limited in what they carry.

We’re in Iowa or we’d come out again. May Leeds have a Spursy scoreline against the Saints.

venom ‘s tale about the jerkoff know-it-all MMJ fan in the Reviews thread made me feel thankful for the very positive interaction I had last Wednesday evening with a fellow music fan who was running the bar at Hermit Thrush Brewery in Brattleboro, VT. I was grooving along while he was dialing up some Judas Priest and Thin Lizzy on Spotify, then he shifted gears to a really nice John Hiatt song I hadn’t heard before and that spurred a 60-90 minute conversation about Hiatt, James McMurtry, Lucinda Williams, DBT, Jason Isbell, etc. Not a complete rarity, but a genuine, sustained give-and-take with someone whose musical tastes intersects with mine more than most. The beer was great, too. Exclusively sours. I had a few barrel-aged varieties: a gin barrel saison, a dark sour aged in I-don’t-recall, and a foudre-aged Flanders red ale. V good stuff and a bright spot to an otherwise not-so-great 48 hours in Vermont.

This tastes like an alcoholic smoothie and smells like potpourri. I wouldn't order it again.

…what were you expecting? The bar just had the name of it written on the board and it said 'Pastry Sour', so I was interested. I tasted it and though it was sweet, I got a pint. Regretted it about halfway through.

what's the deal with brooklyn brewery? a friend left a stonewall ipa here the other day so i tried it last night and it was putrid. i used to drink copious amounts of their summer beer but that was over 10 years ago when there were fewer actual good craft options.

Maybe it was old? I don't think I've had the Stonewall IPA, but in general I think their mainline brews are pretty hit or miss.

y'all remember the boozy root beer craze about 8 to 10 years ago? well, the brewery, small town brewery in wauconda, is now called spirit water brewery in cary, ill. my man's class reunion was there on saturday and they make some truly heinous beers. like, lemon lime and peaches and cream and all this gross shit. besides getting one pour of the root beer (they can't even call it not your father's root beer anymore, they must have sold the rights), i exclusively drank the guest beers all night.

Trying to be good this week in anticipation of all of the GABF events next week. I'm pouring at the first annual PorchDrinking fest on Wednesday and then going to an Other Half tap takeover Thursday, a Three Floyds tap takeover on Friday and then off to see whatever the heck Trve has leftover on Saturday.

I went to 4 Noses before the Chemical Brothers concert in Broomfield. The place was jumping. I had a gose-style sour called 'Raining Apricots' that was very good.

So apparently a lot of breweries just leave full kegs and unopened cans behind after a beer fest? Ended up with a pony keg from Parish Brewing and a ton of other beer. Just kind of wild to see what was leftover.

Doing a low key bachelor party in New Buffalo the first weekend in November. We rented a small bus/driver for a while that Saturday to take us brewery hopping. Can anyone give me any opinions on Transient, Tapestry, Zorn or Burn 'Em breweries out there? We're definitely going to go to Journeyman and Greenbush but I'm trying to pick the other stops.

Didn't we go to Greenbush for brunch? Seedz was good, I went to Ghost Isle recently and that was nice too though maybe more of a restaurant.
