Any suggestions for a holiday gift for a handyman who has been tremendously helpful as we've settled into our new apartment?

Was gonna say a gift card for food, but I’ve heard you can also get food with cash so maybe that.

I wasn't sure if cash outright would be weird since he works for the building owner, not us. But probably he wouldn't care.

My parents have a little shelf system that they keep in the kitchen to play NPR and listen to CDs and I thought about replacing that since it skips and doesn't get great reception. But then I thought about maybe getting them Spotify and a little Bluetooth speaker but I feel like that could be kind of complicated for what they want to do which is not much. Opinions? Recommendations? Things I haven't thought of?

my parents are not tech savy really at all, but last year i got them apple music and they got bluetooth speakers and they were insanely happy. they havent asked me anything about the speakers lately, so i think they are working fine for them. they're pretty straightforward these days. i bet your parents would love it.
also, people should give money to the building handyman as like a holiday bonus anyway. i'd stick with the cash suggestion.

Just seeing this now but if you do go with the speaker idea, I would also get them set up with the NPR One app, as it will play their local NPR station for them like they're used to. A lot of speakers you also really only have to connect once. My mom has figured out the bluetooth setup in their home and she would call me asking why her unplugged computer with no battery left wasn't working so I have faith in the non-tech savvy group.

Thanks! I couldn't decide and thought I might be starting to overdo it a little and who knows if it will be delivered on time, but maybe I will get it for them eventually.

We got my mom a bluetooth speaker a few years ago, and it hasn't been too difficult for her. I'm not sure how well she would handle Spotify.

One of my freshmen just gave me a gift card from Reckless Records. I ain't changin' that C- of his unless he revises his last essay and/or starts performing better on tests, but what a great kid.

Got my first gift. A sweatshirt that says Colorado: Bears and Shit with an adorable bear on it. I approve.

I got my first gift because I accepted a package from FedEx that was delivered to our door on a day when Mrs. Doso also happened to be working from home. I was peering at the shipping label to figure out where it came from and she assumed I saw the big Sodastream logo on the box (I didn't). So she quipped something about how I could open it now that I knew what it was and then I noticed the logo.
I was questioning whether I'd keep it at first, but I learned that the carbonation is much more effective if you use a bottle of water that has been thoroughly chilled in the fridge as opposed to cold water right from the tap. Now I just have to find a flavoring option I like. Really do not care for the syrups that came with the package. Very pleased to dispense with lugging 2 liter bottles of Schweppes back from the grocery store.
