Here's to everyone who still takes time out of their day to come here to argue about which TVotR album is the best. I hope you and yours all have the season you're dreaming of.

Hope y’all are enjoying your holidays. I just enjoyed breakfast on the porch overlooking the ocean and am quietly drinking my coffee. I am very fortunate.
Since we didn’t do a yay 2018 thread (yet? At all? I thought that was nice last year) here’s some of my input: I got married to an incredible woman who has proved to be the most supportive person alive, I graduated school after a brutal final semester. I bought my first car that cost more than $1000 and isn’t ready to fall apart at a moment’s notice. I’ve been on a bunch of fun trips and seen some amazing shows. My relationship with my immediate family is better than it ever has been before. Despite all the job horrors of this year, I feel incredibly blessed, however dumb that sounds.

Happy Holidays, all y'all.
Our family has mix of Hanukkah and Christmas during the holiday sesason. For this year, we've successfully managed to offload the children for Christmas Eve, so I should be able to enjoy a nice dinner out with Mrs. Doso, then we'll watch It's a Wonderful Life back at home. Going to see Vice at Alamo Drafthouse tomorrow morning before the kids come back, then I'll make a beef tenderloin with smoky potatoes and persillade for supper.
We are replacing our bedframe and mattress this week, so that's really our gift to each other. I did get Mrs. Doso a bracelet from a yoga-themed jewelry store so she'd have something to open. I also ordered an article of high-quality clothing that was being sold at a deep discount, but I totally do not remember what it is.
I brought the eldest stepson to the Drake concert for his main Hanukkah gift and I'll be bringing the red-headed stepson to Robyn when she's here in March. We're putting together a very nice reading nook complete with lighting, pillows and wallpaper for my daughter. They're all getting earplugs in their stockings as well as Tile trackers to attach to their goddamn house keys.

So...what did everyone get for Christmas?

My wife and in-laws went in on Criterion's Ingmar Bergman box set, and my grandparents in law got me some movies and the Grateful Dead 5/8/77 vinyl box set. I already knew this, but E got me tickets to Ariana Grande for april so that will be fun
More than anything I'm pretty happy that we nailed it for everyone else. That was all I really cared about, and everyone was really happy with what we got them. My sister-in-law got a giant blanket with pictures of all of her cats on it from us and her reaction was lovely (she also has had the blanket over her since she opened it)

Some Dr. Martens x Stüssy loafers Some Criterion Blu-rays, including The Age of Innocence, which I'm dying to see since I haven't seen it since it was in theaters Some Vans and other stuff This will probably be the star of the day, though (not finished yet here): Note to self: learn how to make that Merry Christmas to all!

I got PJs and undies from my mom. <3
Got a pork shoulder smoking and we're going to bread up some shrimp with Takis-brand Fuego corn chips. Taters and slaw, too.

I posted about the Chinese food. Went with Young's, but in hindsight we should have gotten the lollipop wings from Great Seas.

Hope everyone's Christmas was a blast. I'm in NC visiting my parents and they live in the mountains with barely any service and no internet. Did some hiking and kayaking.
Wife and I passed on gifts for each other this year bc of the dog bill but we got everyone something. My parents got us some weird clay pot that I'm truly baffled on, a Pier 1 gift card, and some money soap. They're weird. Gonna have another Xmas on Saturday with her family. Her uncle did some random fixings around our house that we just hadn't gotten around to which is awesome. Heading home today!

I'm Jewish. My mom observes Christmas and all my local friends celebrate. I've been here 18 years and have met only like 4 Jews. Send help.

Aw yeah, I made egg nog earlier this week, too. So good.
We went pretty light on gifts for each other this season since we purchased a new bedframe and mattress. In addition to the Sodastream, I received a new cutting board, some fabric Chicago Bears coasters and the Jeff Tweedy book.

I'm Jewish. My mom observes Christmas and all my local friends celebrate. I've been here 18 years and have met only like 4 Jews. Send help. Mrs. Doso and the stepsons are Jewish. The boys' stepmother is from Chapel Hill and her family seems to belong to a vibrant Jewish community in that area. In fact, for two of the past three summers, the red-headed stepchild has attended a Jewish summer camp run by their synagogue. That said, the members of the tribe seem to be generally few and far between in that area.
