Effectively Wild is the GOAT but I also really like the Ringer MLB Show

I listened to The Ringer one years ago when I first tried to get into podcasts. I'm trying again now

Never heard of the other two. I need more opinions cause I'm too stupid to have my own

Agree with Effectively Wild.
The Lindbergh book with Sam Miller where they take over running an indy ball team is a great read as well.

The Show is supposed to be released on Tuesday. If Bryce doesn't pick a team this weekend, does The Show just release the game with Bryce Harper in that white hoodie on the cover? This has to be such a marketing flop for them because they had to have hoped to promote the hell out of it once he decided prior to the release date.

It’s fuckin amazing that the angels can’t build a winner around him. Makes Dell Demps look like a smart fella

Got tickets for my friend's birthday party, bleacher seats for the Brewers on 5/11. I'm sure that'll be a very kind and sober crowd.

Nationals say they're officially out on Harper. Other than the Phillies I can't think of a team that would offer him what he wants. Boras done fucked this up.

I hope Reinsdorf pulls his head out of his ass and ponies up money for him, because our outfield is abysmal.

They're all taking MLB jobs, so good for them. I haven't been a huge fan of some of the new writers they've brought it, unfortunately.
Everyone should subscribe to The Athletic, btw.

Sox signed Ervin Santana to a minor league deal with a camp invite, which is surprisingly not dumb.

Marwin to the Twins. 2 years, 21 million.
They're a few bounce back seasons from the likes of Buxton, Sano, Pineda, Schoop away from giving Cleveland a run for their money in the Central.

So reading about the White Sox signing an over the hill pitcher, coming off a season lost to injury isn't really helping my mood towards the team.

Aaron Hicks gets a 7/70 extension from the Yankees.
Good deal for both sides. I love when late bloomers figure it out and get paid.

I dreamt Harper signed last night. I can't remember where.
Someone please let me off this ride.

It sounds like he will sign this week. I wonder what's going on with Kimbrel and Kuechel though. It's getting close to the point where they will not be ready to start the season.

I had that dream the other night. Sox signed him for 10 years $310 million. Clearly a dream.
It's bonkers to me that the White Sox went through the entire offseason and only added Jon Jay and Brandon Guyer to a very dismal outfield. No other organization would allow Hahn/Williams to keep their jobs.

He really is!
I'd love for him to sell the team, but that'll never happen. Still love this team, but damn, these are trying times.

I definitely get the impression that the Yankees and Hicks just took the $60mm Pollock got and then added a little to it but bumped up the years for luxury tap purposes. There's no way that a 35 year old Hicks is playing CF for the Yankees, but a 10mm a year tax hit for him is a nice deal.

IIRC there were some strong rumors of him handing the team off to his son after they got the new TV deal.
Not that he's guaranteed to be a better owner or anything, but it seems like a changing of the guard isn't far off.

I don't know Kenny stays employed but I think Hahn is a pretty good GM.

It must be an AL Central thing...Cleveland's about to roll out an opening day outfield of Leonys Martin, Tyler Naquin, Greg Allen, Matt Joyce, and Jordan Luplow.
