Agreed on all counts. After the first two batters, and I suppose the HBP, I thought the Nats approach to Hader was brilliant. Made him throw a ton of pitches, dude couldn't get anything off-speed over for a strike, and didn't swing at any fastballs unless they were lower than their shoulders. It put a ton of pressure on him.

The Cubs would have struck out in 12 pitches.

i didnt get to watch the game last night, but hader has struggled a lot in the 2nd half, i believe. not sure they have many other good options, though.

In news surprising no one, Mets fired Mickey Callaway Cleveland fired our bullpen coach yesterday, I wonder if Mickey would come back in that capacity. I know his bullpen was legendarily bad in New York, but he was something of a pitching whisperer during his time in Cleveland, and Terry loves his old friends.

I'd like to let the Mets know I am available to turn their franchise around an entire 360 degrees.

Probably no more vacancies than normal, but it feels like a ton of guys have been fired already or are rumored to be let go.

Great website to read if you have free time today: sabr.org/eight-myths-outI admittedly bought into a ton of the myths they debunk. There's also a good accompanying article posted on The Athletic.

I thought now that the Twins entire roster had turned over maybe they could break their first round curse vs the Yankees.
I thought wrong.

So I guess the Twins tied an all-sports record for most consecutive postseason losses at 16.

Also, in shit that I can't decide if shady or not:
Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf confirmed in a television interview Tuesday that Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred warned city officials that the Athletics could relocate to Las Vegas if the city didn't drop its lawsuit to stop Alameda County from selling its share of the Coliseum to the team.

Absolute meltdown by the Braves so far today. Hope the Dodgers/Nats put an end to this BFIB shit sooner rather than later
