holland's 2018 was kind of crazy between the late signing and then the jekyll & hyde act.
25 IP, 7.92 ERA, 4.56 FIP, 50 ERA+, 2.24 WHIP
21 1/3 IP, 0.84 ERA, 2.97 FIP, 510 ERA+, 0.89 WHIP
like, how is that the same player in one season???

A lot of players (especially pitchers) who signed late had crazy first half/second half splits. Holland had NO spring training whatsoever, it's understandable. |

He was also very bad during the second half of his season with the Rockies, so maybe he's just a streaky pitcher at this point in his career.

So if the Rockies do actually manage to sign Arenado to an extension soon, that completely changes the market for Machado. Harper, too - but more from an AAV standpoint.
