How much was the RTJ thing? I was kicking it around, but decided against it. I kinda want to see about getting the Tango in the Night alternate somewhere, but I'm sure that's $$$$. $47. The tin case is set up so you can hold all three of their records in it (name on the side, front is their fists/jewels logo, back is just a fist in the air). The 12" included is clear with etching on the back. It also came with a new gatefold for RTJ3 with Marvel superhero artwork. Front is deadpool, luke cage, iron fist, elektra and, um, howard the duck. Inside has deadpool and howard samurai sword fighting Also: stickers, record player protective sleeve. Shit load for $47.

I wasn't too enamored with the RSD titles but ended up getting:
The Lone Bellow 10" Dogfish Head compilation Sleep (green pressing) APC
Was looking for the Pink FLoyd Piper at the Gates mono but that apparently went quickly.
I was on kid duty so I wasn't able to wait in line at Groovin High like I usually do. It was nice to stroll in around 10 and pick up a few things without the hassle though.

Yeah, I was bummed that the Czarface 7" was $20, but I got it anyway. god that's ridiculous. i thought prices for most of the things i was interested in seemed fair this year compared to other years. i go the car seat headrest 2LP and it was $25. sufjan was just ridic tho.

The LPs this year were pretty reasonably priced. I think I paid $30 for CSH/Fidlar (small shop) and $25 for the national

oh that makes a lot more sense.
if the sufjan 10" had come with an "is this sufjan song gay or just about god?" comic book style explainer of the two songs then it would have been worth the $25 tbh.

Discovered a new record\skate shop in Lakewood yesterday- Chain Reaction Records. They have a very small inventory but it's 80% punk and metal. Picked up a couple of demo\outtakes collections from Bowie (Strung Out On Heaven's High) and Television (Sketches).

How long should a turntable from turntable lab take to arrive if I chose the free shipping option? Anyone order from them before? I didn't want to pay $40 for the next shipping option

Oooooh what did you buy?
I haven't pulled the trigger yet but am thinking of buying a package from them as I mentioned somewhere in this thread.

I bought a turntable/speaker package. One of the cheaper ones but it's better than my current "all-in-one" setup. The motor in my old one is being difficult so I decided maybe splurging a little bit on a belt table would be worth it. I figured I couldn't rationalize and more vinyl purchases until I actually invested in some quality materials.

It didn't say what the shipping speed was, and I didn't find anything when I googled it but it is the "ground shipping" option so I wasn't certain

Very excited to listen to records all day

I went with the AT LP60, largely because I have no use for the features that typically come with the more expensive models, and it comes with pretty nice speakers as wel. I really didn’t want to add in the cost of an expensive pre-amp and I’m not buying any of the platinum cartridges so I was pretty comfortable going with that option.

I've got the 120 which has the exact same preamp built in, as far as I'm aware - I've never had any problem with the quality of sound. I have read, though, that it's a really easy mod if you decide to do an external preamp of better quality down the road.

man i'm so excited. i was looking at the reckless new releases today, and my favorite paul mccartney solo album, chaos and creation in the backyard, that's been out of print since it came out in 2005 was reissued among a few others of his today. i got it on gold vinyl on my way home. i've always wanted this one but it would sell for like $200+, insane.

I found Phoebe Bridgers for $10 lightly used at Waterloo in Austin today but passed on it cuz I figured it was too depressing and I'd never play it with people over. Also passed because that place was a gold mine today. Got the following for $48: Savages - Silence Yourself Hot Chip - What Makes Sense? Built to Spill - Untethered Moon Beirut - Flying Club Cup

So yesterday the white vinyl pressing of Beach House's 7 showed up at my house. I thought I had ordered the cassette, so either I made a mistake or they did, but whatever, it looks really nice. Holographic foil on the sleeve.
Also got the silver pressing of Pulse Demon (the best Merzbow album) which also has a pretty holographic cover.

The only vinyl I buy online are artist presales for bands I’m almost guaranteed to enjoy, or unique/rare releases from Vinyl Me Please or Newbury Comics.
That said, I don’t go to record stores all that often and buy most of my vinyl at shows.

That’s probably a good practice to be in. I’m still trying to build up my collection a bit and start getting older releases that I like a lot but I imagine once I’m a bit further in that regard I’ll start going the record store and artist website route.
