Finished up X-Men 97 the other day. Started out as merely a nice nostalgia trip but it was legit a good show. I wasn't anticipating the level of violence in the later episodes.
Started up Shogun last night. First episode was incredibly well done. X Men was seriously so fucking good. Shogun is on my list coming up soon, still holding up? Shogun was great, start to finish. Would recommend

Oh I thought you meant light brown hair in the 80s

Ah, fair. Still light brown as far as I know, and definitely more of a character actor than a lead

Chat GPT is saying Jerry Stiller, who I coincidentally also thought of , but didn't suggest since his hair is not parted and he is more than just "that guy."

I think that guy has had gray hair since the womb though, no? I'm trying to figure out what I would have seen him in and I think I'm picturing him in Just Shoot Me so brown-ish?

Re: Top Chef I'm at the end of my rope with Dan. Guy always has to chirp about something, make a comment about how crazy a quickfire is or how he can't believe he's in the top three, blah blah blah. We get it dude you're from Wisconsin and you maybe met these high level chefs coming on as a guest once or twice in passing. I feel like we never hear anything from the other chefs in group settings when it's not a straightforward interview section.
I was a Danny guy in the first half but I'm strong team Savannah at this point.

but do you realize it's reality tv and they all "chirp about something" but it ends up on the cutting room floor.
i get it, it gets a little cringey when he waves at the guest judges and says hi, but what's the alternative, act like he's never met them before??

I don't care if he just got a bad edit I still hate him and his cooking is inconsistent as hell and I hope he packs his knives!

pretty harsh for a dude who seems pretty beloved by everyone on the show, is quick to grab everyone a high life after judges' table and has a disability of which he is raising awareness!!!

Obviously I'm being a little dramatic. I do like high life. Also I feel like they stopped talking about the disability after the first couple eps, maybe they didn't want to use it as a crutch for him which is understandable. I'm sure he's a good guy I just can't have any perception of him other than what is being presented to me.

now that we've settled that, i do agree he's very inconsistent and i can't see him taking home a W.

now that we've settled that, i do agree he's very inconsistent and i can't see him taking home a W. Idk, I feel like he's had more highs than any of the others. And his highs have been higher if that makes any sense? When he's bad he's real bad though. Also was talking to kb about this earlier but it's hilarious to me how whenever Paul Bartolotta is on they pronounce his name with a super extravagant Italian accent (bar-toh-LOHHHHHH-tah) when I have only ever heard it said with a nasally Wisconsin accent (bartah-lahtah). When his sister appears in this week's episode she says "welcome to Ristorante BARTOHLOHHHHHHHTA!" and then immediately says "hi I'm Maria Bartahlahtah" lol

We watched season 1 of Broadchurch over the last few days. I really liked most of it but I thought the finale was incredibly stupid

Broadchurch S1 is pretty good. way better than the first half of S2 which was so dumb i stopped watching and also the US remake which was a bloated version of the original series.
