yeah I'm pretty excited to watch this when I get home. I usually end up binging that show
I thought season 4 was a good rebound after a weak season 3

Loved season 3. 4 3 (marginally below 4) 1 2

wow really? I go like 1>2>4>>3. Though if I rewatched season 2 I may feel different, it's been a while. I've rewatched 1 more recently and I think that stands where it is
this might be a point of contention but I kind of hate what they did with Claire in season 3, and I think they completely fixed that in 4. Also Stamper's storyline in season 3 didn't do much for me either and took up too much screentime.

I felt like the thing with claire built up to where it was reasonable, i was actually on her side. doug yeah i can kinda see that. i thought it was good, showing that at the end of the day he's always loyal to frank no matter what. season 2 just felt like frank talking to tusk in the kitchen/woods then walker back and forth and back and forth.

I honestly felt like that whole season made her just look kind of weak, when I like her character best when she's just as smart/cunning/planning as Francis if not more. I get her side of everything in season 3 but idk. Season 4 made it look better in retrospect when it kind of seemed she had a plan the whole time

I should be watching that tonight, I was too tired the last two nights. Can't believe it's all over next week. this last episode was something else and I'm still kind of wrapping my head around it
we still have an episode to go but after last night I think I've gathered the point of the show. and I have a thought of where next episode will go, but Iunno they keep blowing me away and subverting my expectations so I'm not even sure
God I'm so in love with this show
Watched it, I have no idea what the hell happened. Still a fantastic show, and still thrilled to see how it all ends.

I never made it through season 2 of House of Cards. Same here! And not because I didn't like it. We watched the new Hasan Minaj Netflix special last night. A+! Very funny, highly scripted (in terms of lighting, camerawork and backgrounds), thoughtful and poignant.

C1916 - Hang on nonetheless (even if it isn't always easy at times, I know) - definitely worth it Just finished watching Season 6 tonight And irt Neader - let's agree to disagree. Not my favourite season but far from the worst, I'd say

How 'bout that Leftovers finale, uh?

Post by mookie on Jun 5, 2017 9:52:31 GMT -6
Yeah, that was... something...
I get what they were going for, but it doesn't make much sense how the last few weeks led to it. Also, about 45 minutes into the show I yelled to the screen "YOU HAVE A HALF HOUR LEFT, DO SOMETHING!"
Having been a big fan of Lost, I figured they wouldn't neatly tie everything up with the finale though. It still was great, and Carrie Coon and Justin Theroux deserve all the acting awards this year.

I liked it. I really feel like in a lot of ways last weeks episode was sort of the finale and this weeks was more like an epilogue. Also Nora's monologue at the end was kind of incredible and deserves all the acting awards Also this is maybe the best behind the scenes piece I've ever read on a TV show and gives a ridiculous amount of insight into the thought processes going on there- www.vulture.com/2017/06/leftovers-finale-behind-the-scenes-exclusive.html

Cowboy Bebop is getting an American live-action series and I'm kinda upset by it to be honest. America needs to just fucking stop with trying to find a new cash cow in anime adaptations.

No way that's any sort of good.

In the (incredibly implausible) hypothetical scenario where it's good I'd still be unhappy because it'd mean every fucking big anime would be targeted for adaptation. Anime is so culturally rooted in Japan that it's just not something that can work.

I'm sick of pretty much any animation of any kind being adapted 1-for-1 to live-action. Even something as simple as the Disney Beauty & the Beast ends up looking strange with real people. Even Japanese film adaptations of anime end poorly.

Well yeah, the Japanese film adaptations are no better than anything you get over here but at least they don't have that feeling of Hollywood mooching off of another culture's art. While I don't watch the Japanese adaptations I don't mind them for that reason.

I'm trying to think of a single good anime-to-live adaptation.
I mean, I know Wretched personally vouched for the GitS remake, which is a bit of a ding to his credibility.
