Ariana Grande - If she hasn't squandered all of her good will from the three good singles over 5 years by making Pete Davidson a household name and you were unable to get tickets to one of her 5 other chicago shows in the next 6 months you can pretend to enjoy the greta van fleet of turn of the century pop music from a mile away while drinking a $14 8 oz. strawberry-arita! Slay queen!
Childish Gambino - Some say the rise of apocalyptic fascism is the worst thing about the internet but how about it convincing the most eager improv kid at harold night that he is Prince. Atlanta is a really good show tho congrats to him!
Twenty-One Piltots - It's wild that Sublime meets Imagine Dragons is what the kids want but hey. This video seems to have a weird CGI thing that swims and the song becomes coldplay and than everyone is sad this is the biggest band in teh world nice!

The Strokes - The Strokes are a good band and the Cars only have a couple good albums too and I'd go see them so hey.
Tame Imapala - I'd like to say Tame Impala is a bad band but they are a good band. They don't jam tho they should jam It's bizarre to see a band like this just play their songs.
Flume - Listening to the Flume mixtape that came out today and its sunny like all of the boring pleasant edm shit but its also glitchy and weird and it doesn't sound like im buying a yogurt.

The Chainsmokers- Beach House is the funniest song i've ever heard and I wish them all the best can't wait for "Animal Collective"
J Balvin - I recognize elements I like in this but its just too busy for me. I got really into Bad Bunny so I checked out this album and I skipped around alot and there is definitely some good in there.
Kacey Musgraves- While I think its objectively bad that critics only pay attention to country music when it becomes pop music that doesn't stop Kacey from being one of the only acts I am spending money on this year/would spend money on and the glow up rules.

Lil Wayne - I saw lil wayne at House of Blues a few months ago. Everyone was smoking tobacco cigarettes inside and there was a guy in a rick and morty shirt who was doing high kicks in the back of the crowd. He rocked that shit like it was a headlining festival set. Glad we are back in the Weezy renaissance.
Janelle Monae - JM is wonderful and the best and the most recent album wasn't very good and I wish artists didn't have to go generic to get noticed but it has quite the success rate!
Meek Mill - Meek Mill is the best a real throwback to before hip hop had quality control and shit I just wish this wasn't the festival that booked Meek Mill this year but i'm glad he's rightfully among the top acts

Hozier - I believe in the past I had put Hozier in the middle catagory. This is before I saw the video of him yelping in a subway platform as if him and his whole band decided to casually start singing. it sucked shit. clearly this guy also sucks shit. The shit suck guy. The album sold 80k first week this month lmao.
Rufus Du Soul - The first act I hadn't heard of before on the lineup. I guess its for people who want to listen to Chvrches but their heart condition prevents them from experiencing quick tempos or any tempo changes for that matter.
Gary Clark Jr. - I saw Gary Clark Jr. open for Outkast and nobody cared except this cargo shorts dad who was losing his fucking mind which ruled despite being otherwise boring. The song that is on the lolla page from his new album tho is pretty good tho i might need to give gary clark jr another shot.

Tenacious D - remember when someone said kids don't know who jack black is therefore tenacious d cant play lolla. that was weird! Post-Apocalypto was great and funny and a really good return to form!
21 Savage - I liked 21 Savage musically a bit better when he was playing a bit more of a character which is not done enough in mainstream hip hop but i still like 21 savage and its extremely important that he's subheadlining festivals and i was excited to see him on this lineup!
Death Cab For Cutie - I never got into this band! I've tried! They are boing! I like the Postal Service!

The Revivalists - Their page on the Lolla lineup site didn't have an embedded video which forced me to go to youtube which is already a strike against them. I guess they are if Train was one of the Mumford sons. Congrats to mumford on his uglyshit sons
H.E.R. - Her? She's fine so far! Weird to have to have a take on someone who doesn't even have an album out yet despite having been nominated for best album at the Grammys. Its got alot of elements of things i like?

Gary Clark Jr was also a standout on the much loved Tom Morello EDM album.
His song was decidedly non-EDM but it still had that devil may care attitude that you'd want on an album where Marcus Mumford, Pretty Lights and K. Flay also have prominent features

Lil Baby/Gunna - They are billed seperately but theres more than a non-zero chance they perform together. Lolla does a good job of perspectively booking the biggest things in rap on time and this is an example of that
