Lafferty and McCabe to Toronto. That sucks. Hawks get 2 guys I've barely heard of and 2025 and 2026 draft picks They are really going to strip this team down to nothing in the next week I haven't exactly followed religiously lately, but isn't this exactly what they need to do? The trade ledger from the past few years combined with the loss of Kane / Toews this year...I wouldn't want to wait around another 2-3 years hoping a good team appears. I was hoping they might keep Lafferty at least, but yeah, total rebuild at this point. Pretty much have Toews finish another season or two and probably retire, and slowly rebuild. The big key would be winning the Bedard olympics at the end of this season (having the worst record in the league), but they are actually winning at the moment, so they are not doing that right either. Stripping these parts should help with that though. |

Now a reliable Hawks insider is saying Colorado is looking at Domi. It's pretty much just going to be Athanasiou and a bunch of pick ups from the Icehogs at this point

If he didn't have a full no-trade clause and there was an actual bidding war to trade for him he would have landed a ton more, but it sure sounds like he only wanted to go to New York.

Yeah that definitely seems to be the case. I applaud the Hawks full on commitment to tanking the rest of this season to try to win the Bedard olympics at this point. Gonna take a lot of non-work to beat out Columbus right now though. |

Kane kind of screwed the Hawks by dragging his feet and picking a team that had no cap room and had already made a blockbuster trade. They could have easily gotten the Tarasenko trade but the Rangers weren't going to wait. |
