Tool will definitely be doing #AlltheFests next year after their arena tour this winter
also Cardi is overdue to headline and Grimes will probably be big enough on the next album
only dadrock act that stands out to me right now is Bruce but bosma was telling me that he doesnt seem interested in touring lately so idk

I mentioned that he didn’t seem interested in touring this year post-broadway. I think he stated he was taking a break till the end of the year. I could see him playing if they give him a big enough slot on the schedule.

Also I don’t think Tool will play this fest based on the fact that the entire demographic of this fest would actively attempt to be somewhere else.

Tool is def better suited for Riot Fest at this point.

I pitched my idea for a top line to one of our resident insiders and he told me it was good but would never happen. I think if I speak it into existence enough, it will. I present: Kate Bush- Billy Joel- Frank Ocean- The Cure Thank you. Lol - Kate Bush. If she were to actually come across the pond, I am 100% certain it would not be to play Lolla. Why she would be top line, yet alone #1 is also a headscratcher. #rare only works if coupled with #popular The Cure being 4th on your list makes me sad/mad. Also, Billy Joel has to play Wrigley again.

My only issue with Bruce at Lolla is he would get about 1/2 the set length he would actually need. Dude puts on marathon shows.

I’d love to see Coldplay again, but I think they would just play a couple of nights at Solider Field again if they are touring next year.

If Grimes has a big album she could be a north headliner I think. I heard a rumor a while ago that Coldplay wouldn’t be back to touring till 2022 at the earliest but if my memory serves me right that was a friend of a friend of a friend sort of deal so take that with the smallest grain of salt

Why do people think Coldplay would be such a weird booking for this fest and why are taking it for granted that Lolla wants to double down on the youth movement? I am guessing they kind of wish they had more to offer the late 20s and up crowd this year.

I am guessing they kind of wish they had more to offer the late 20s and up crowd this year. its not a question of whether or not lolla wants to book coldplay; the paycheck for 2 nights at soldier field is far more lucrative than whatever lolla could (or, would) offer them they could try, but for coldplay? idk its just not exactly groundbreaking and they've had their play. maybe on the down-swing. i have no data, but im curious which acts have ever played soldier field, then lolla (within a span of 2-3 years)

I know that's the opposite of what you asked.

Paul McCartney played 2 nights at Wrigley and then played lolla 3 or 4 years later.

GnR playing Lolla next year seems logical given that they have ACL on the books for this year and Lolla booked Slash this year.
