If given the chance, I'd leave Russ to play with Steph and Klay in a heartbeat

Everyone acts like the only two options were OKC and GS. He was strongly considering Boston too and I really think that would have been good. Great coach, lots of young talent and draft picks, no stigma of being the team that just beat you after you had a 3-1 lead, the cap room so you don't have to take a pay cut, get to play in an easier East, and it's his team. I don't think he has any sort of stigma against him if he goes there and winning a ring on a team you are leading looks a lot better than one with the team that already won 73 games before you joined.
Also would have been much better for the league not that individual players should worry much about that.

Harden has missed his last 20 3-point attempts. He’s gotta be in the running for least clutch of all time, right? He can obviously re-write that narrative with a strong performance in the next game or two. But it really does seem like he just gets tight in these big games. nothing new for him - he disappeared in the '12 finals w/okc vs miami. Even in the clinching game against the Jazz, that was all Chris Paul. And then there's the San Antonio series last year. And the massive comeback against the Clippers in 2015, when he spent the entirety of that run on the bench.

And Hayward would still be in Utah. Crazy to think of the dominoes that fell as a result of Durant's decision.

I don't know specifics on cap room but they had enough to get Horford then Hayward the next year, there might have been a big expiring blocking it but I wouldn't have been surprised if they could have moved some things around to make Horford happen too.
Hayward staying with the Jazz would be interesting too, that team would be really good and probably competing. And the Warriors would still be really good, they probably use the money they used to sign KD to bring in another piece and they possibly get to keep the bench more intact.
I see people say Golden State is fun and all that but as a basketball fan ill take a balanced league where it's not stupid easy to predict the finals over that any day.

I love when people hold athletes to a higher standard. For some reason this reminded me of the new chris rock special where he talks about pilots

Oh yeah, he didnt look bad at all driving, but he just kept pulling up for threes over and over and over. I was getting so pissed off at it.

There have been maybe 2 of these games that haven't been blowouts.

If you say so.
The NBA is kind of trash these days.

I'm sure this will go over well with the chi contingent here, but i think if you swap out LeBron with MJ, he doesn't make it to as many finals.

The East was much stronger in the 90s and was probably the superior conference during most of MJ's years. Some of those Pistons, Knicks and Pacers teams were legit contenders in a way most of the teams Lebron has beaten in the East Playoffs were not.

I’m pulling for Steve Clifford, but Orlando sort of feels like the place where NBA coaches go when their career is on life support.

It's a super creative way to ruin his career, I'll give him that.
