Xam, please pin this to the top. This is for discussion only. No lists, only chatter. More content developing ideas to follow, as well as how the rules for lists and whatnot as well. For now, you can find a list of albums (updated as of 10/7) that I have complied for you to check out here. I am pulling these from my own collection/interests as well as our previous EOY lists, and media outlets but not limited to the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, and NPR. Blonde is overrated and you can't convince me otherwise

If this were the old board I'd say fantasy was a lock for #1. Now? It'll be the National or K-Dot

Some thoughts while pulling together my album nominations list:
- Beach House made some of the best songs of this decade, but it’s too bad they chose to spread them across a number of good albums instead of one great one.
- Deakin’s solo record really ended up being the best AnCo and AnCo-adjacent project of the decade, huh?
- Statement #1 but replace Beach House with Screaming Females. One of the best bands of the decade for sure, but I’m not sure they’ll have an album that cracks my list? Live at the Hideout would for sure, but I don’t think it’ll be eligible.

My google doc is updated for you cause I have a down day here. It's back part heavy cause there's more lists available for that, but so it goes. By no means comprehensive but I think it covers most bases.
Now y'all who never make lists have no excuses!

Deakin - Sleep Cycle 2. Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper 3. Centipede Hz 4. Avey Tare - Down There 5. Panda Bear - Tomboy But Deakin’s really the only one who’ll prolly crack my top 100.

I tried listening to Take Care for the first time in over a year in preparation for this and every song just felt like an incel anthem to me.

the new Avey might be my favorite AnCo-related release of the decade? I find it hard to evaluate Hz because even though it has a bunch of good songs it was such a comedown from MPP

Like every time I listen to it, it's better than I remember. Carrie and Lowell is amazing but I still prefer this.

I've been listening to NPR's All Songs Considered for the first time in a while and have been enjoying their episodes about the decade. Today's was about social media, specifically focusing on rap beef and cancel culture
