Imagine thinking this in a world where MVotC exists. And again I say, bruh In what world have I ever been quiet about my incredibly strong VW feelings.

I was at the end of my hardcore classic rock phase at the time, and this song sounded like a revelation to me. There was new music coming out that had guitars? Pretty much the only modern band I liked at the time was Coldplay at that MGMT song from the opening credits of 21, so this was big news for young Monastery. Between these statements being true of me as well (though I think I started listening to arcade fire in 2010?) and the fact that we looked exactly the same in 2011 I’m starting to think we might be the same person Annihilation (2018)

what are thoughts on the burial comp collecting all his releases from 2011-19? all the material is from the decade, though they were released separately. the sequencing of the comp is incredible though and it's really an extraordinary collection of music.

i really found it impossible not to rate things based on how impactful they were to me at the time of their release
was way easier for me to approach albums objectively in the 90s thread when i had virtually zero memories of their existence

Yeah, memory is a fuzzy thing, I'd be at best guessing how 2011 me would rank things. How they stand right now is the only thing that makes any sense to me.
