Jack was a rescue too. We'd like to pay it forward ya know? Jack was 10 years old when Lauren got him, he'd spent a majority of his life tied up in a yard and forgotten. I like to think his quality of life increased significantly in the last 3 years of his life. So to keep the spirit, we're only getting rescues from now on.

a few weeks ago, we didn't get picked as new owners for the basenji we were wanting to rescue, but they contacted us about another one that is being re-homed and they think would be a good fit. we're talking to the owner next week and will probably take it on as a foster and if it goes well, we can adopt her. she's 5 y/o and very pretty. fingers crossed!

In high school I was in jazz band and we had an annual trip to Gates because our director loved it so much. i've been to Q39, bryant's, gates... this time we went to smokehouse bbq in independence, purely out of convenience because it was close to the owner's house. it was just ok. wouldn't have been my choice. |

new dawg. we officially adopted her last week. technically we'd been a foster for her, and she's such a weirdo that i wasn't sure if we'd keep her or not. she is ok around me, but prefers my wife much more. her affection level is close to zero, but she's the most low-maintenance dog i've ever been around. we knew her last 4 years, but her first year or two no one knew anything about since she got picked up on the streets. a work in progress for sure, but it's slow. |
