our first dog was a show dog and still had a ways to go before he got his championship. we went to a lot of dog shows and they're kinda wacky, especially behind the scenes grooming. ours had a mole on his nose that they had to put makeup on to conceal it. and then we taught him how to sit at one point, which didn't translate so well in the ring - he kept sitting at random times when he should have been standing. we were bad dog show parents.

so today's national dog day? well, i celebrated by taking mine to the vet for a wound on her paw and it cost me $200. yay dogs!
