I have Chromecast on all my tv's. Not very expensive and works great. The better your WiFi, the better it works, though.

It arrived today, so I guess I'll let you guys know how it goes. Hoping to use it for the Billy Strings run next week.

Can anybody recommend a good, free VPN for my cell phone so that I can watch the blackout games on my MLB app?
The VPN works for this on my PC, it's not an emergency. Just want my phone to work too.

Probably dumb, but- is there a way to view Instagram content consistently without having an instagram account registered? Every time I go on a page with a lot of stuff I need to look at after like 5 seconds I get a full page “log in to continue!” page. Zuck and social media still sucks so I don’t wanna

Anyone have a good website that sells monitors for cheap? Woot used to be good, but apparently that’s not the case anymore.

I use dealnews for most electronics. It's a decent representation of what's on sale today.

iOS 14.5 is out!
edit: unlocking your phone while wearing a mask is the best feature.

I'm pretty sure I can unlock my phone with a mask on as it is, though I suppose I haven't been wearing a mask on my thumb.

Who is really good with excel?
I've got column A with three different values. I've got column B with 8 different values. I want to do several things:
1. Count the number of times each of the various 24 combinations happen. 2. Multiply that count by a value associated with column B. 3. Sum those results based on values in column A.
I can do bits and pieces of this but I'm struggling to string them together.

My POS phone used to call the last person who called or texted me without me even touching my phone. I reset to factory settings and it went away. Not good that your's is calling 911.

So I have been having a group text issue with my family (no one else). Periodically it just stops working for me (can't respond, no longer seeing messages) and we have to start a new one, but yesterday my brother started a new one and I never got it.
If I start the group text, I have to re-add my brother and sister in law constantly as it looks like they "leave" after each text. I can text everyone individually just fine.
I swear I am on good terms with my family lol wtf is going on? I spent too much time with customer support yesterday and basically had to reset my entire phone which is super annoying and they were finally like there's nothing wrong we can see on your end. FWIW my parents are on my phone plan and my brother and SIL are with a different carrier.

My very limited experience with 2 factor authentication tells me someone offshore was trying to hack into your phone. Changing your password was probably all that was necessary. Did you receive any emails about jacking off and/or Bitcoin payments recently

Would like to report that I'm still blocked from the family chat, but now I can still see their messages. They can't see mine though.

No, but I have a Google Wifi mesh system and like it. I'll probably upgrade once Wi-Fi 7 becomes more common.

Do any of you use the eero mesh wifi system? Do you like it? I use the eero and love it. Made pandemic working/schooling from home much easier since the wifi never really reached our dining room. Was super easy to set up as well.

We had to go with Orbi because (at least at the time) it was the only option that would work with Verizon FIOS. Orbi is fine and gets the job done (wifi in the master bedroom which is separated by two thick plaster walls from the base) but a little quirky. Eero is highly recommended and I would've gone with that if it had been an option.
