Any recommendations for smart locks/deadbolts? Anything from just a basic keypad on the outside to phone connectivity inclusion? I need to replace the lock on my back door and figure I should do this.
I usually default to Wirecutter on this kind of thing but both of their picks are kind of expensive relative to a lot of the choices on Amazon that have a bunch of reviews. I understand that this definitely isn't something to cheap out on but just wanted other opinions.

Check out the Lock Picking Lawyer, he does a pretty thorough test of pretty much everything and explains how the locks actually work so you can pick something that fits your own needs/anxieties. Pretty sure he has a list of recommended door locks and he won’t endorse one that he wouldn’t be totally comfortable using himself.
Also it’s fun to watch him pick locks in 7 seconds

anyone else use lastpass as a password manager? apparently the breach a few months is really bad, like someone got every single lastpass users' password vault (30 million-ish). at least they didn't / can't get the users' master password to get into the vault but i figure it's just a matter of time for that, so here i am changing all my passwords ugh...
wondering if i should stick with lastpass (after changing my master password and most / all the others too), or change to another? because it's probably going to happen to any of the other password managers at some point.
any recommendations?

I use Dashlane.
Theoretically the same problem could occur with any PW manager.
I keep hearing about "Double Blind Password Management" which you can set up yourself (just Google Double Blind Password for descriptions), but I've yet to pull the trigger. If Dashlane ever gets compromised, I think I'd go to something like that.

I use 1Password - it's been great for the 6 or so months I've been using it. I had used Last Pass previously and I'm a bigger fan of this setup.

We use lastpass through work but thankfully I use different work passwords from my personal ones

I use iCloud Keychain and like that but that's if you are part of the Apple ecosystem.

sometimes if i double-click on the scrollbar, a little icon pops up and tends to stay there for a while, even when i visit other sites.  this has happened maybe five times since moving to this board and i've never seen something like it on another site. any idea what that is? |

I'm not an expert but it looks like some sort of tracking notification/tag thing. Just as an FYI, these guys might have a video of you jacking off and might demand bitcoin payment from you.

I thought Kai and Sanam were the most boring winners possibly ever but they seem like actual nice people in the real world so that's ok.
Liked Lana, hated Ron, Shaq and Tanya had their ups and downs but I liked them anyway. Terrace Tom is wha'eva but Samie was pretty great. Love Jessie, Farmer Will in small doses.

I came to really love Kai and Sanam, so Emma and I were pumped when they actually won. That said, they def gave the least to the show's arc of any previous winner. I just enjoyed watching how genuinely into each other they seemed and how unbothered they were by everything around them while the Villa devolved into a flaming mess. I loathed Ron for the longest time, but seeing he and Lana become so unified post-Casa was a big turning point for me. And by the time everyone in the Villa teamed up against him in the final week, I was pretty fully on his side. I really like he and Lana together and have absolutely nothing bad to say against Lana (how could anyone, really?). Not a fan of Tom in the slightest. Or, my apologies, Samie either. I appreciate a good shit-stirrer but some of it seemed kind of mean-spirited toward the end. Most of my eye-rolling tho is directed at Tom and Shaq for being completely fake to Ron. Oh and Liv. Wow, what an icon. Truly a masterclass in becoming a reality TV heel. Have to applaud such a dazzling performance. Honestly, the highlight of the season was Zara - for me. Her back-to-back episodes with "How can I sit on this bad boy piece of information" into calling Tom a "community penis" was unmatched. Sad she went so early, but it was probably for the best - I don't think she really had any support inside the Villa. Jessie & Will... yeah that was a love/hate thing for me. Jessie was cool, Will was just a lot. All the time. Cannot believe how hard he fumbled in Casa. Dude probably would've run away with the season if not. Shaq and Tanya - what a mess! Seems like communication is not their strongest suit, but maybe they can make it last for a bit on the outside, a la another rocky villa couple, Teddy and Faye (tho that just ended a month or so ago). |

pardon the silly question, but is there a good strategy for freeing up google storage space other than going to page one and just mass deleting emails? between gmail and pictures of my v photogenic progeny, i'm up to 92% space used. maybe (or maybe not) it'd take me years to get to 100, but i'm sick of seeing the warning.

Over the weekend, I noticed that the contact photo for my folks had been changed to a picture of a baby that none of us know. I changed it back, and a little later my folks noticed they had lost almost all prior texts in the group chat with me, them, and my brother and SIL. They think I somehow erased their texts by changing the contact photo (this seems unlikely).
Has anyone had this happen? Idk if it's related but my folks are on my phone plan.

That element makes it sound like you got hacked and someone was able to access the other lines on your plan, or else you have a niece/nephew no one's told you about.

has anyone with android noticed their predictive text get exponentially worst in the past month or so? my phone all of a sudden does not know my daughter's name (or possessives any name) or the word fuck - two of the things i say most.
or, say i'm texting the same thing to two people. my phone used to be able to predict/suggest it the second time. not at all anymore.
it's realllllllly annoying.
