We got sides from Jeong and we're going to make a chicken in my new dutch oven and than I realized I bought too small a dutch oven so than we tried to get a Popeyes turkey and they told us that hte next shipment came in yesterday which turned out to be a lie so now we are also getting fried chicken from parsons and there will be 200 sides and for 2 people and also I am making bacon jalapeño corn bread as well.
I've been eating one meal a day for the past few weeks so unsure if all of this food will just sit in my stomach as my system goes into shock.

Media here say that US airports have about 1 million passanger/day these days prior to Thanksgiving (almost half of last year's pre-Covid influx)
Dreading to see the Covid stats in two weeks

it'll be a small thing this year with those who have been social distancing and the rest via zoom. I'm making two lasagnas for everyone. one with sausage and red sauce, the other will be seafood with alfredo.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all! ...in a very general, non-colonialist, virtual sense.
If the rain holds off, there may be some social distancing in my friend's backyard.

So last night I thought to myself well Budlong will be open tomorrow so I'll do Parson's tonight. I go on Doordash and their hot chicken doesn't have the option to do it demon style, their super hot essentially. Nor does it have chess pie. So I go on their website and try to order pickup just to see if I can order them for pickup but not delivery for some reason. Turns out I could for demon style but not chess pie. But I didn't want to do pickup. So I call them and ask them if I give them my name and put my order in the second after we hang up can you make it demon style? Not a problem he tells me. So I get it delivered and it is demon style. Also probably the best hot chicken I've had outside of Nashville.
Then I wake up this morning and see that Budlong is closed. So I check out Parson's. Through Doordash the hot chicken isn't even an option, it's only Thanksgiving stuff. I check on their website for pickup, same thing, only Thanksgiving stuff are choices. But then I look in my cart and what is there? The demon style hot chicken and chess pie I went through the process of ordering from the night before just to see if I could! Still in my cart, able to checkout, and just picked it up from them. Checked the bag and it's all there.
It's a Thanksgiving Miracle!!!

It's 18.9 lbs. There's two of us 😳 Just finishing the initial high heat blast and it smells pretty dang good in here tho 😀

it used to be much more stressful and negative with my family when it was a bigger headcount of extended members from the south, who were not exactly open to some of us in the family and how we identify ourselves. granny did a good job of telling them all to fuck off so now thanksgiving is a much smaller event with just immediate family who aren't prejudice af and we all get along just fine that being said, this is probably the most i've looked forward to a thanksgiving ever. i was away from home way more this year than any other year previously and kinda WANT to be around my family and catch up on stuff. which is something i never thought i'd say lol wow this post is really upsetting to read a year later when i've been quarantined from my family for 90% of the year and cant see them for thanksgiving lol damn

I'm on drink #3, soon to move on to #4. We haven't even opened the organic wine I got to see if that doesn't trigger my wife's migraines. Happy turkey day people.

Also, dogs can eat shrimp, but my pup did not want one for some reason. She also did not want chicken livers that my wife made for earlier this week, so I think she is being a dog wrong

So far thanksgiving with my family has consisted of:
1. My dad telling me that if I don’t get married in the next 3 years, me owning a bar would be an acceptable life choice
2. Explaining to my mother what my bacon garlic green bean dish is since it’s gotten rave reviews in the past
3. I’m drinking regular Ballast Point Sculpin, which hasn’t happened in too long a time
Happy thanksgiving internet family. If any of you people have a line on a PS5 this Black Friday eve, holla at your bird

me owning a bar would be an acceptable life choice unfortunately for your potential future employment marketing efforts, there already is a bar named "[tweet's real name] nest" on southport north of fullerton.

Delaying Thanksgiving by a day (at least) as I am now sick. Taking a quick break from dry heaves to post this.

Those private gatherings are indeed the no1 driver. I hope your students are masked up in class and that you are too, and that neither overcrowdedness not poor ventilation is too much of an issue in your school.

I've decided that I don't really care about the meal so much, nor do I care much for going anywhere* and seeing family, but I do like all this time lying on my couch and napping and watching movies, so I vote that we keep Thanksgiving.
*If you would like to pay for me to go somewhere, which happened a few years ago when a bunch of kids needed a chaperone for their trip to Italy, then that is acceptable.
