New Ride is excellent. Not a bad track on it. Even the semi-segue/mostly noise track Integration Tape is good. Love it.

I'd been avoiding this for some reason. I had listened to one song and didn't care for it but I've seen tons of hype for it on other sites. Only two tracks in but I'm digging it atm.

It's really been a great year for shoegaze. Not just the returns of Ride and Slowdive. There's a lot of great material out so far with more to come.

apparently Cloakroom counts as shoegaze.
as a nonfan of the genre, idk how i feel about that, but anyway. yeah that new Cloakroom is fantastic so i recommend it for anyone who likes that stuff.
(reminds me a LOT of True Widow, who i also recommend for people that like that sound)

I saw Ride perform in a 100-year-old synagogue last night. That was fun. Opening band was called Froth; they're from LA and do that gazey-washes-of-guitar-with-krautrock-style-beats thing. I enjoyed them quite a bit.

One of my favorite shoegaze records from 2014 was Aerofall, which still hasn't been put on Spotify.
