Places to send money are good, information on direct action is good, it's important to do some research for yourself as well. I went through Layla F. Saad's "Me and White Supremacy" workbook last year and it was extremely challenging and beneficial. It's work but it's necessary. I have found it extremely easy in the past to label myself as "one of the good whites" because I care about racism but there's a lot we internalize and there's a lot that needs to be done. Highly recommend, here is a link

There are local groups organizing where you can drop of supplies to protestors if you don't feel safe with COVID and being active in the streets right now.

Will marching with DSA tomorrow in Greenville for march organized by BLM. Donated to a friend of a friend who lives in Minneapolis and is collecting money for supplies to protestors.
Most importantly calling out and confronting friends who are spewing bs.

I refuse to pay any attention to blackfish Ariana Grande (I will not be a reason why someone like her is famous) and roll my eyes at basic white people.
Also, I teach the voices of queer POC, like James Baldwin and Richard Rodriguez.

I don’t doubt that for a second.
While we’re here, what’s your favorite Richard Rodriguez work? Can’t say I’m familiar

I don’t doubt that for a second. While we’re here, what’s your favorite Richard Rodriguez work? Can’t say I’m familiar The one that I teach is Hunger of Memory. It's a beautiful metacognitive reading experience in that it made me question how language and what forms of language shaped my world and experience. His ideas about affirmative action are very controversial, especially with the Latinx kids, because they expect him to mirror their own ideas, but it provides them with the lesson of learning how to divorce themselves from their emotional response while assessing the argument someone is making. The kids' journals can be pretty hilarious to read. They're like, "I thought I was going to love this because he's just like me...but then I realized that I HATE him."

It looks like between when I went through it and now she's published it in print so that might be the go to method. Regardless I highly recommend.

If people are into this sort of thing my buddy who works for PayPal is trying to raise money for BLM Chicago and PayPal is matching all donations made in an employees name. Working on getting more details but since dollars go further to them via this I figured I'd put it on you people's radar
Edit: they actually do this for a number of different charities my friend group is just doing BLM since we've all donated dollars in some way to many ones since then

Dear white people,
When a friend of yours who happens to be a person of color gets sick of your shit and decides to finally tell you about the racist microaggressions he has put up with from you for years, you know what you should do?
All those articles and memes you post on social media about what it means to be an ally and what someone should do as an ally? YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY DO THOSE THINGS. I promise you, there's a good chance you're not as woke as you think you are.
What should you not do? You should not launch into a masterclass in white fragility and scream at your ethnic minority friend about how not racist you are as he's trying to explain to you the racist shit he's dealt with from you.
Oh no. Don't do that. I will cut you down just before I cut you out. And it will be painful for both of us.
Also, while I'm at it, straight, white, cisgendered women: it's bad enough when you won't leave the gay bars, but Grindr now, too? Please don't be hitting me up when you're on the app. I know it may not seem like it around some men, but there really are limits to the magic of your ladybits. And stop telling me Grindr isn't for men. It's not called GrindHER.

I’m sure a ton of white women are complicit in structural racism, I don’t think it’s because they’re on Grindr though.
